Wow, sitting in our hotel in Santa Monica right now and have free broadband internet.  Have been to Santa Monica pier today and ridden on the ferris wheel, bumper cars, rollercoaster and eaten at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.  Hubby is like a big kid - loves everything!  (I think it's pretty cool too).  A bit stressful going over - plane delayed at Auckland and again at Fiji.  Daughter pretty sick on the long haul flight from Fiji to LA - she is NOT a good traveller.  Managed to get a bit of sleep on the way over and I think the herbal jetlag pills worked.  Quite anxious at times during the flight too - mainly due to anticipation, little sleep and turbulence.   But we arrived safe n sound and had almost 14 hrs sleep last night.  Feeling a bit nervous about seeing family again tomorrow.  I haven't seen them since I was a kid and that was 25 yrs ago.  Might be a bit emotional, since it's my Dad's family and Dad died just a few short months ago. Anyhoo, Merry Christmas to you all and a happy and healthy New Year.
