Hello dear friends, I just couldn't sleep, I need all of you to please say a prayer for my darling mom (68), who was involved in a car collision with a slow riding train this morning. Spent the day and most of the evening with her, along with my family members. Mom has been banged up pretty hard. She has broken ribs, foot, and who knows what else, she will be transported to another hospital early tomorrow morning. As the evening came on, she couldn't move anymore. Like she's not paralysed or anything like that, but we are afraid that she might have crush some vertibrates in her back. She is black and blue everywhere. The poor thing weighes approximately 110lbs, and is soo frail. Oh God I hope she will be ok. We are a very tight family, you should have seen us, we are just like an Italian family, as soon as we heard, we all met to the first hospital she went, we were 14 in there, so you can imagine the staff, they were not very impress, but like I said we are soo close, and soo sensitive to things like this, I am sure that I am not the only one still up at this time.Oh God if something should happen, we would all die. My poor Daddy, I've never seen him cry soo much. Soo soo sad, so please pray, pray hard for my dear mom, and of course Dad who would be lost without her. :(Thank you

Mckenzie; what an awful accident - you don\'t do anything by halves: a TRAIN! I think she\'s lucky to be alive, poor Mum. May she recover quickly, but broken ribs are slow & painful, let alone tissue damage. I hope she will be in the best place for treatment: try to keep calm as possible yourself. Fond regards, JaneD.

Hello dear friends, and thank you soo much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
Mom will be in the hospital for awhile.
Tomorrow my younger sister and father will be going to see our insurance broker, she\'s a friend of the family, so they will organise things for when mother will come out of the hospital.
At this time we are not sure when that will be.
She has a casket on her right foot, and of course cannot move.
She had blood in her urine, so test are getting done to make sure her kidneys are ok.
She is covered with bruises, black and blue all over.
She has a mini stroke when this occured.
She had no radio on in the car and there is no other reasong how she couldn\'t have heard the trains whistle except for that.
There were 6 police cars at the scene, of course when you hear about a collision with a train you immediately think the worst.
Also the worst thing is, this has happenned just a few miles (2) from my home.
But I wasn\'t home when it did happenned, my father tried to reach me, but I was in Hawkesbury till 1pm, so didn\'t hear about it until 2pm, this is when I went to the hospital.
Now this was friday, so that night I came home fine, the next day, I did all of my housework, knowing that I was in charge of the third shift at the hospital with mother, when I was ready to go, all dressed up ect... I started a major headache and nauseated.
Then I heard that she was being transfered to the first hospital she was took too, later that evening, so I didn\'t get to go which was fine with me, at that point I had realized that I had contracted a virus.
I was soo sick, until noon today.
I was sick like a dog, and having not eating in 24 hours I had nothing to throw up but bill, but still it did the trick and my headache went away.
My sisters told me to stay home and not go to the hospital at all, since they know that I get sick just by going out, especially in a hospital.
So next time I go I will wear a mask like I usually do.
This morning I had my second TC Scan in Ottawa, I was soo sick that I had to cancel.
Now we\'ve got a television installed in her room, a phone, but we had to put it on the bed, cause she can\'t move.
When she will come home, she will have a daily nurse, and a cleanning lady once a week, and we have this service \"meal on wheels\" that will bring both my father and mother\'s meals daily.
Father has always paid big insurance all his life and he is fully insured for anything, even all the kids are insured and we are all over 40, 6 of us.
His brother was in the insurance business, so Father had started buying insurance policies very early in his life, we were all young kids.
We\'ve finally told our brothers about mother.
At first we didn\'t want to tell them because some of them turn to alcohol, so we didn\'t need this at this time.
Now they all know and they are ok, now that she is back at our local hospital, they will probably visit her tomorrow.
I went to see the car, OMG unbelievable....
I am very happy to have my mental strenght back tonight, I thought about you guys soo much in the past 2 days, and wanted to come and punch in but couldn\'t.
Thanks again for being here for me.
Also sending a prayer to that young 18 year old girl who commited suicide in the eating disorder community.
RIP Jade.
Mckenzie One day at the time
