Federal student loans told me I qualify to have them lowered since I'm unemployed. But....Apparently being unemployed for over 2 years (nearly 3) and not being married isn't enough to qualify to have them cancelled (which is what I applied for, and according to the paperwork what I did qualify for) No...According to the government someone who makes a net income of $0 a year and who lives on there own and has no unemployment coming in can afford $80 a month bill on top of groceries and other bills. They took a whole whopping $10 off. Fuck you very much.

Sorry to hear that. Is there some other source of income you can tap into just until you get back on your feet. Government programs or other support services. If you get some kind of income you can re-apply for financial aid for schooling. Good luck.

Can you appeal the decision - here often you can and oft times the appeals are successful.
