So here's the deal: what I'm obsessing about is what I'm doing wrong, which keeps my focus on what I'm doing wrong, which brings on more thoughts of what I'm doing wrong! So my idea to rewrite the 235 characteristics in a way that states each item in a way about what I am no longer doing is a good one. What I need to obsess on, if anything, is the SOLUTIONS to overcoming codependency, not the causes. And by golly, just as soon as I know what the true solution is, I'm going to obsess on it until I need to be cured of all my obsession...or not!

are you taking any medication... I know you say you are an addict but I have a couple of things you can try... if you are willing. They should help you immensely.
I just took myself off Effexor XR. When I went in to see a new Dr. in Dec. (this time Istead of looking for a \'therapist\' I selected a \'Psychiatrist, a physician.) he gave me some Effoxor and the whole month of January I felt \'dumbed\' down, lethargic. I told him when he gave them to me that I felt fine, and I wasn\'t depressed, but I started on them anyway. Now I don\'t feel depressed, or tired! Now I feel great! However, an unexplained side-effect of getting off the alcohol and the Effexor at the same time seems to be euphoric episodes of magnificent happiness, including tears of joy, like just listening to Yanni\'s Tribute CD. I\'ve been through this stuff several times, I know the signs of when I\'m in trouble. Different meds may be worth experimenting with in the future, I\'ve never had prozac ot the other SSRI\'s. I\'m content for the moment, my body is convelescing. I am no longer depressed because I have knowledge. I know what the problem is. I no longer wonder what\'s \'wrong with ME\', now I know, it\'s not about the homogeneous all inclusive me, it\'s about codependency and it\'s addictive habits. Then again, maybe it\'s just one more thing to obsess about...time and experience will tell. In the meantime, tell me what you have in mind and I\'ll talk it over with both my Dr.s: family and Psych. Thanks
