Getting into reading this group discussion can be intoxicating; I can see where my "advice" may be a result of being codependent myself; and I may be offering the wrong advice. Anyway, I need to be more careful about my comments and the wording I use. Some of these things overwhelm me just from past experiences that I haven't successfully dealt with. Like trying to be a know it all. Now I have to see if my responses are accurate and maintain a wiser prospective. Offering advice is meddling; giving examples of how I've dealt with similar problems is information. I think giving information may be the besr help; and ask for clarification, cite codependent characteristics.

The nice thing about giving \"advice\" over a co-dependency website is that you don\'t really know whether or not the person actually takes it. You have less invested in it. I think it is good practice in saying how you feel and then backing off, but that\'s just my opinion.
