Ok last night I had my Mom in stitches.  I am still not sleeping and I described to her what I was going through and she thought it was so funny how I put it so to lighten everyone's day I thougth I would try to recreate our conversation.  I hope it makes you laugh.  My Mom has suffered from light sleeping and waking up to go to the bathroom.... We never could sneak out of the house because she would hear us and every night she turns on the fan to block out noises in the hopes to sleep.  I have always slept like a rock... Head on pillow lights off in my head.  It was an instantanious reaction to a bed.  No troubles ever! Not even when I had the baby.  A lot of new mothers describe a worry about sleeping that keeps them up because they want to hear their baby when it cries.  Not me I was a rock still. So I have never known a sleepless night and I have never napped without going into a deep sleep. So....On the phone I asked her.... When I'm going to sleep after about 2 hours of completely being awake like it is 1 in the afternoon I go into this sleep where you are aware of everything around you but your body is asleep like an out of body experience.  So when Rickie breathes, or the dog turns over, or the baby in another room down the hall sniffles I return to my body and am awake again. I asked her if that is what people do when they nap?... she laughed and said yes.  Then I asked her if that was what she did at night when she said that she has a hard time sleeping and again she said yes.... I was then like.... "Mom do you know that that is called INSOMNIA!"  If I was you I would head immediately to my dr and ask for some serious heavy duty meds!  I mean a body should have actual sleep... This body numb and brain on overdrive shit is for the birds.  We are not about to be attacked by a predator so we should be able to sleep like dead people.  So anyhow around 4 or 5 when Rickie gets out of bed I fall asleep heavily which I then am supposed to get up and do my yoga and start my day.  Which I'm like oh hell no!!! Off goes the alarm, then I turn off my second alarm on the other side of the room when that goes off a half an hour later and then a half hour after that my third alarm in the bathroom goes off and I hit snooze like three times.... This has been going on since Saturday's restless night.  She thought it was hysterical that I didn't know what a nap felt like or that what I'm going through is what she goes through.... She also thought it was hysterical that I said that she should get some heavy artillery that would drop her like a fly for the night! Anyhow I see the PDOc tonight and I hope we reach a solution that does not involve new or increased or dangerous to prospective possible pregnant me and baby.

LOL you sound like my oldest daughter, she really could fall asleep standing up, I think. I truly hope your insomnia subsides,as I know too well what you\'re suffering. Good luck with your pregnancy hopes I\'ll be praying on it !

I used to sleep like that. It took five minutes, tops. I slept through a violent storm once. The thing is, the window next to my bed was open and I was getting wet!
