Living here in Utah, when it dumps snow it dumps it hard and cold and it freezes. On my way to work today, on the freeway a your oriental kid had slid off the side of the road trying to avoid a car that was just parked off the shoulder. He over corrected and ended up sliding off the hillside. No one stopped to help. Not nobody. I pulled over in my big yellow Dodge truck ( just had to add that in cause I love my truck) knowing I would not be of much help but to see if he needed to use my cell phone. He was trying to dig his old car out but there was way to much snow and mud. To the rescue comes a car full of Mexican workers, four of them. They jump out of there car and run down the embankment and tried to push him out while I was guiding him on which way to turn his tires (like I know anything). He was so stuck. Then another car full of mexican workers stopped (four of them) and they ran down and started digging him out and trying to push him up the hill to no avail. By then the freeway nazi came and told us that traffic was being held up and the only way he was going to be able to get the car out was by tow truck. The young man named Eric told him there was no way he could pay for a tow truck. The nazi told me pretty much to get my ass back on the road. At this time the young man began to sob just a little though as I know he was full of pride. I walked back down to him as I just happened to have a hundred dollar bill in my pocket. I tried to hand it to him to pay for the tow truck and then the tears came streaming down his cheeks. He told me know way could he except this and at that time another car full of mexican workers (three this time) jumped out of their car and proceded down the hill side to help. The nazi gave them one more try to push him out and pretty much told me to get my ass on the road, I know this is his job but he was quite an arogant bastard. I headed back up the hillside got in my truck but did not leave. I watched as all these gentlemen and let me repeat gentlemen tried their hardest to help this poor fellow but they just got him stuck in deeper. I got back out of my truck, went down the embankment and grabbed Eric by the arm. I told him to look at me as I held on to his arm with one hand and held my hundred in the other. I said, "do you know what it means to pay it forward?" He told me he did and I handed him my hundred and said "here take this as you can use it more then me but just remember these people that came to help you and what I have done and make sure when you see someone in need that you do the best you can to help them. He gave me a big hug sobbing and held me for a few seconds thanking me. I went back to my truck and had this wonderful feeling of happiness. Now to finish the rest of this story. I got back to my truck and tried to get back onto the freeway. You think one son of a bitch would let me in? It wasnt like the traffic was moving fast it was backed up but not one person would stop to let me in. I waited for over ten minutes before one car stopped and let me in so I could get on my way. Freakin Utah drivers. Well made it to work and I was so happy with myself. I felt so good. I am by no means rich but I have gotten a small inheritance from my ex husband. My children are well taken care of and have never gone without. Expecially the older one that I work for. I was so happy with myself and my feelings. When I came in the door my son Ryan asked me what took me so long so I told him the story. He freaked out on me. You gave a stranger money? If the kid hadnt been driving like an idiot he wouldnt be in that kind of mess. Are you fucking nuts or what? His girlfriend Milly stood up for me and said if she was stranded she would hope someone could help her. My son was so pissed at me and made me cry. I couldnt quit crying for about 15 minutes. Oh well, I did what I felt was right and was real happy, atleast till I got to work.. If anybody reads this can you tell me what you think?

Oh sweet friend...I am crying myself...it\'s people like you teaching others that \"pay it forward\" really does exist...I love you & respect you so much. Don\'t ever believe the lies of those who have coldness in their hearts & can\'t see beyond helping only themselves.
I have no idea who you are but Im \"FUCKIN\" \"PROUD\" of \"YOU\" I have driving in Fuckin Utah myself! Pay it forward!!!!!!!!! Right fuckin on!!!!!!! RESPECTS TO YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi - What a wonderful story. Kids don\'t understand. You did the right thing. I would have done the same. I have never heard of pay it forward. The thing is would your son like to be stranded like that after a stupid mistake. You made me feel proud of being human! God Bless You
I may be an atheist, but to me you exemplified what the whole \"Spirit of Christmas\" is about and you should be proud. People like you make faith in humanity something worth believing in.
great story
I love it that you helped that young man...what a kind and thoughtful thing to do. Ignore your son, you did a wonderful thing and it made you feel good. Enough said!
No question about it. YOU DID THE RIGHT THING. I am very proud of you. As for your son, some of the younger generation just do not get the concept of giving when it is nessesary not just when it is expected. If he brings up the suject. Just tell him to mind his own business. And don\'t worry this will come back to you. Big hug and a kiss coming your way......
You brought tears to my eyes.
right thing. i hope that you will be allowed to see how beautifully your one act of kindness grows. if not, just know in your heart that you indeed did do the right thing.
That is one of the nicest stories i heard, don\'t let your son get you down, he doesn\'t understand and that\'s ok, you felt good about it and look at all those other people who stopped to help because you stopped first. It\'s a good deed, I love pay it forward, wish I could/would do it more.
You absolutely did the RIGHT thing...if only everyone were as beautiful as you..this world would be worth living in. You are amazing and strong and very spiritual. God used you big time .... and that was HIS joy you felt....His joy is our strength. Pay it forward is an awesome concept I wish it would really take hold. Your son needs to really get a grip on life. What you did is not only right, but awesome!!! He should realize how blessed he is to have a mom like you....oh, and by the way..he is not well off....you are!! You made my day----I hope I have an opportunity sooooon to do as you did....God bless
Your son was probably just pissed because he writes your paycheck so he felt like he was giving the kid the money. You definitely did the right thing. That\'s awesome. I know how hard it can dump in Utah. I used to ski out there all the time. One year I was there and it snowed 55\" in one night! Anyway, I would\'ve done the same thing had I had an extra $100 laying around (but I\'m lucky to have an extra $1 LOL). There should be more people like you, NOT your son, in the world. Great story at Christmas time!
I think you are great, I hope if Im ever in need like that chap, I meet someone like you. Good deeds NEVER go unpaid. What goes round, comes round, in many ways we can\'t see.
I\'m going to say this...you did the RIGHT THING! You got more out of that hundred than Eric did! You did what you felt was right, and you will be repaid 10 fold for it! Don\'t you listen to your son. He\'s just can\'t see the truth of the matter. You did what was right, and I would have done the same thing if I had been in that same situation. You did good!!!!!
that is the most wonderful thing i have heard all year! i think you did a great thing by giving that guy money. too bad the nazi was an arrogant a-hole! my BF would have said the same thing your son said. and i can totally understand you getting upset. but if i were you - i would have done the same thing. your act of kindness will come back to you 3 fold. believe that. (and it figures traffic wouldn\'t let you back in) but just know that you did a really great thing. and i was so happy to hear about the Latinos helping out. 3 trucks showing up! warms my heart. and to hear all the bad things ppl can say about immigrants. (we are ALL immigrants) anyway - Happy Holidays to you. i hope your new year will bring you extraordinary things.
