3 am and rain......

i've been awake for three hours and then the rain began.........it comforts me.  a welcome friend......we can all be funny sleep paternistas huh?!  just when we get a semi routine it rotates and here i am sitting at my computer in the dark.  rio is sliding through my jammie legs, hoping to go back to bed.  he likes laying on my right arm.......he'll make do with my arm elsewhere but not without voicing loud kitty complaints.

maybe my arm is his Mother?  what i didn't tell you about saturday was the stupidest thing of ever........  debra and i had gone to Buford that day.  first stop was to see Sam and take him something as promised.  So my new friend met both my ex-husband and my sweet son......she couldn't get over all those pianos.  so many pretty shiny lovely musical instruments.  the parking lot was full of parents attending the piano recitals of their talented little ones.

then we headed north to check out a big St Vincent De Paul thrift store, my new cleaning lady Mendy told me about it.  Yes, Mendy came by last week for an interview.  She will come clean this Wednesday.  so happy to have found her.......and my home will stand taller again once it is all clean and shiny.  i keep it tidy, but she will mop, clean the tub --- do all the things that are so hard for my spine to manage.  mendy worked daily for one family for many years.......she stayed with the family until the last child left for college, then she decided to take more time for her own family and grandchildren.  she left the family and now only cleans one home a day.......she likes the more relaxed work schedule and her rates are right in keeping with my budget.  she will come in and clean once a month for $75.00 (for three hours).  that is a huge weight off my shoulders.  thank you God for letting me meet Mendy.....continuing prayers that she is the right person for my nest.

after our day out we came back to my house so I could feed Rio......freshen up and rest a bit before going to the spaghetti dinner.  i noticed something dark on the carpet and thought oh dear.....that Rio!  he likes to get in the plants sometimes and that leads to Rio getting sick on the carpet......I got the carpet stain cleaner --- a wad of paper towels and set off to attack the mess.

so there i am spraying the resolve on the mess when it started to move......fast!  i hollered........aaaaaaggghhhhhhhaaaaaggghhhhhaaaaaggggghhhh......by now Debra is saying what the heck?  and i splutter, "cat vomit ...moving......fast......aaaaaggggghhhhh aaaaaggggghhhhhh!  by now the cat vomit is running to hide under the bed.......i am thinking maybe glasses need to be higher on the priorities list???!!!!!  at some point i realize it was a lizard, one of those chameleon lizards.......this one had turned himself brown trying to hide, but on cream colored carpet he looked like well......cat vomit.  blurggghhhhhh.  i felt so foolish, like such an all out idiot......shouting about moving kitty barf.........and howling..........but then later at dinner we told the story and had a good laugh.  i've always had a streak of Lucille Ball running through my veins......it's good to be able to really laugh............so good!

rio is doing a lot of talking right now, the rain has picked up considerably.......feels like i'm the only one other than rio awake right now.......now i'm thinking i'll take advantage of chinese lunch prices the day of the dinner........select a variety of dishes and make a nice dessert, serve hot tea and that could work.......for the lady dinner out on the patio weather permitting?  the lunch prices are really great and would remove the need to cook........hmmmm?  it could work.......just noticing how much my house needs dusting.....maybe i CAN still get by with my reading glasses????  i hope, i hope, i hope!

i can still hear debra starting to laugh when i announced that the cat vomit was MOVING...........shaking my head, feeling sleepy and thinking about that nice comfy bed, time to try to sleep some more.  a good final note, when i came back from the dinner i found the lizard and released him outside......he had met up with Rio, lost his lizard tail.......but he was still alive.  I put him in the leaves by the front bushes......and when i went out later to check he was gone........i hope he survives his terrifying short stay at Sparrow Cottage.  that he can tell his lizard grandbabies about his wild adventure in the great inside.

and i hope you are all sleeping this night........love y'all.  the rose bushes are covered with pretty blooms, the irises are opening up......loving spring! (even with all the sneezing.....we're all pollen all the time in the south!)  i've started to refer to my plants as grandplants...........it seems to ease some of the longing for grandbabies a bit!

love love love, good night!

Hi there Ruthie soul. That's so funny about the lizard. Glad it wasn't a snake. Do you call St Vincent De Paul...Vinnies for short ? We do here in Aus." Let's go check out Vinnies " we say..We also have a large store called "Target ". It's all new but competitive prices. Like a cheap store. However many of us ladies, refer to it as...Target as with a French accent. So instead of Tar..get, we make it Target..French. Am I making sense ? Sounding like Tarchey. Anyway...
Good news about the cleaner...Mendy. I immediately thought of Mindy as in Mork & Mindy lol! I bet Mendy is not her birth name. Sounds like a name she made up for the job maybe. Do you think ? Or is it actually a name, over your way ? Maybe it's short for a longer name. Does it matter anyway ? Of course not. Did you read her ID ? Oh shut up Di.
All your blooming flowers sound lovely and I can feel your excitement for spring. I do miss having seasons. It's just warm and sauna sweating hot here. The wet season and the dry season. I did grow up with the four seasons though, ...in Mooroopna, in the state of Victoria. I do remember them all.. I loved the spring and summer the most. I do remember all the gorgeous autumn leaves too. Feels like another life time almost. My heart has an empty feeling when I flash back. Time is such an illusion in so many ways. It's on our side, behind us, infront of us, all over us. Time always wins. It's a speedy little number. Oh dear..where did my life go ?
Well..I had better make time to get off this bed and clean my messy kitchen and say farewell for now. You're doing a great job of it all Ruthie. I'm always happy to read your journals. Much love. Hope you score a few bargains next time at Vinnies. Di xoxo
