2nd Beta...not good news
I had my second beta today and it has come back at a mere 370. Which is awful. I am pretty upset. Trying not see it as the end of my very short lived pregnancy, but I fail to see that this can possibly go on as a viable pregnancy. I am yet to have any symptoms except for some fatigue and sore breasts but that can be put down to jet lag and the progesterone. I am having another blood test next Tuesday so I am praying that between now and then my Beta soars and I start to get some symptoms and the nurse has gone as far to book me in for a scan in early January. She said that the result was low but still within normal limits.
My husband also looked up some guidelines which stated that the beta has to increase a minimum of 35% every 48 hours...mine has increased 60% for each 48 hours...still not convinced though.
I just feel that thisis even a worse outcome then having a straight out negative. Now I face another dreaded 5 day wait....all of this whilst my entire family descends upon our household over the next few days so that my husband and I will have no time to process this loss by ourselves. Just feel so deflated!
When I was convinced that I was going to get a negative result, I had reconciled myself with the idea of going through the entire process again. It really wasn't that bad. So I am trying to prepare myself for the prospect that in the new year, we will have to go through the transfer process again. Once again, I need to emphasise, it really wasn't that bad. It isn't a big deal, its just the sense of loss of what could have been, but we have 3 frozen embryos so we will have another few chances this time round.

I\'m sorry your numbers aren\'t where you would like them to be. They are still in the normal range though! I know it is so hard to stay positive at a time like this, but try to keep yourself busy and hopefully before you know it you\'ll be getting a wonderfully high betanin a week! Sending positive vibes your way!
Sooooo sorry to hear your numbers aren\'t where you hoped. I, too, found the wait for the 2nd and 3rd betas to be almost worse than the 2ww. I\'m surprised the nurse was so negative about your numbers. A 60% increase in 48 hours is totally normal!!! Mine didn\'t increase too much between betas 1&2, but then skyrocketed by the time beta #3 came around. Please don\'t lose hope. I had to keep telling myself, \"TODAY, I am pregnant. Maybe tomorrow will be different, but today I\'m where I want to be.\" It helped me stay in the moment. I also did some meditation & deep breathing exercises, where I focused on sending breaths of positive energy and oxygen to my growing bean. I exhaled out any negativity, stress, and things that would impede the embryo\'s growth. Again, while it\'s just conjecture whether that worked or not, it sure made me feel better! Hugs to you!!!
It\'s definitely not over. I personally know lots of women whose HCG never doubled properly, and a bunch of them are now either busy being moms or busy being very pregnant with those babies. Don\'t give up hope, you might just have a stubborn little one.
Like kDeezy said, it\'s definitely not over. Your little one might just need a little longer ... Keep hope, friend!
