2009

Just thought I would write since I haven't done so in awhile. I just got off my two night shifts. So yesterday I set the alarm to wake up at 2pm because I like to get a little sleep then wake up and go back to bed around 12 or 2am then I am ready to begin living day shift hours again on Wednesday. Well this week it didn't quite work according to plan. First of all I stumped my second toe while getting to the bed and it was throbbing so I had problems getting to sleep, when I did get to sleep it seemed like the alarm went off so I turned the thing off. So ended up getting out of bed at 5pm.....Hobbled down the steps into the living room because while I was asleep seems like my toe got more swollen and hurt when I walked. Didn't take long for me to get on the couch and fall asleep again finally I went back to bed and sleep until 3am this morning. Toe still hurts but not as bad so I figured I am up for the day. I hate it when the routine is broken because it means I am going to be tired and want to go to sleep before 7pm tonight.... Christmas Holiday was good. One of Peter's daughters came and stayed Peter cooked most of the dinner which I helped with side dishes. New Year eve we went to Shannon, Ireland(about an hours drive from here) to visit Peter son and daughter in law. Bring in the new year with them. Ended up drinking too much which I haven't drank in a while so any amount with me is too much LOL Had a good time watching Peter's grand kids playing with all their toys, but missing mine. Then on the way home the next day we stop over on our way home to visit Peter other son and his girlfriend they have a baby that is just a year old. I think we did more traveling in one day then we have all year. But we had fun and everybody is well. Peter's daughter in law is expecting another baby in July.  We have decide to visit Kentucky in September instead of June. Hopefully airflights will go down a bit by then. Gives me more time to save money for the trip also. Really looking forward to seeing my family again. I bought a digital camera online which I should be getting sometimes this week so I will be taking lots of pictures. I really hope everybody had a nice Holiday and it wasn't too sad. I had my ups and downs started crying when making dishes I use to make when the kids were all at home and small. I forced myself to be around people rather than withdraw to my room and be by myself. I even when to went to our Christmas party at work well really it was more of less at a resturant we ate and some people went on to pubs and I went home. Which that was a waste of my time because the food wasn't good and no entertainment afterwards. I am still working at the same nursig home and the way things looks I might still be working there for some time. The economy is bad here also, plants are closing and more people on unemployment. So I think I should stick with it until I get my citizenship because I don't know about me not being a citizen as of yet and being unemployed. Well maybe if I watch some TV I can go back to sleep for awhile. I think i will take a pain pill for my toe and hopefully get back to normal later on today. I think of all my friends on this site daily and wish everyone the best. You are the best people and I hate that we had to meet this way. Love to each one of you.

You haven\'t broken that toe have you? Maybe you should get it checked. Glad to hear you made it through the holidays okay, they are tough. I\'d keep my job too as the economy is tough all over. Still trying to stay on top of all my Dr\'s appointments and treatments and to remain determine. Hope the toe is soon feeling better and that you are not too tired on day shift. Love and hugs Cathy

Hi Cindy,
I work 9 pm to 5 am now and I always try and keep the same routine going cause I noticed if I sway to much then I get head aches. When I am off I skip the nap and go to bed after midnight and I have 3 nights off in a row so I am able to switch to the daytime frame of mind.
I am so glad that you will be visiting Kentucky I think sept is a better choice cause it is not as hot. Keep checking the prices and do comparison shopping on line. When I went to Fl last year a phone call got me a cheaper rate then on line...keep that in mind also. How long will you be staying? Hugs, Inga

I think you did very well for the holidays. It is only to be expected that it will always be hard for you at Christmas. It was very hard for me, and I did not do well. I had a najor crash ib JAN. I think I set myself up for that! I had this idea in my head that if I made it through Thanksgiving and Christmas, the come JAN. I was going to be fine. Whoops that just did not happen. I got myself back in seeing my counseler 1 a week, and I am taking my Meds, faithfull, not missing any for any reason. I have made up my mind about a few things which are hard ones. It had to be done. I cannot take care of my grandson\'s household and ours. He can\'t pay the electric bill,I am not paying it. It has been 1 yr and 1 month since Steven died. My grand son wated to live in the house. I think he has had enough time to get a job and pay his bills.I just can\'t afford it anymore.Well I am trying to get better. Sometimes you have to do unplesant things to your family . I love my grandson, and It will kill me to give up that place too, but I can\'t afford it. I have spent all my savings on that and if not for my savings we would not have had money for Christmas.(the grand children are all we bought for.)It is hard to find a job here, but that does not make my check stretch any longer. I a stretched all I can, I feel awful about doing it, but I know it is the right thing. I am glad you are doing so well. I am trying to. I have taken steps to get myself better. One step at a time.Love Peggy
