Sad day...

I was at church today and my friend, who started the Walking for Wellness group, after the loss of her daughter to a Heroin OD, 1/3/13, was running late.  She started to sit next to me and I could tell something was not right…  :(  She told me that another friend of ours, Rocehlle and Mom who I was just talking to Tuesday night about her son who had been clean for 3 months now, he lost his fight.  He too passed from a Heroin OD last night.  Gee and I held hands, tried to listen to the service, kept tearing up as we both know what it is to lose a child.  We still ask WHY?  What else can be done?  The only think I know to do, is reach out to our friend, be there as she starts her journey, learning to live without her son.

I will also tell her about my wonderful FMO group and when she needs to she can join us...

I know you all know what I'm talking about.  SO SAD…  She had such hope when we walked and talked Tuesday, but I also had to be honest when she asked me about my son. I had to tell her he passed 24 hours after getting out of rehab, but said I would pray for her son Chris.

Again my heart is breaking…  So senseless, I don't' understand addiction, I only lived it with my own son from when he was 17, til he passed at the age of 33.

So please as you read this just say a little pray for my friend Rocehlle… Sending you all HUGS!  I hope you had a Blessed Easter weekend.  Even though I am sad, I continue to grow STRONGER in my faith and learning my new normal without my Gregor.  But God love this boy of mine, I had several signs from him all day today.

Love you Gregor,

Mum

Breaks my heart all over again...I broke down as I read this. I am so sorry for yet another young life to what I consider a demon. And right now, I better not write too much because I feel anger. People are dropping like flies over heroin. Accidental drug overdose is currently the leading cause of injury-related death in the United States for people between the ages of 35-54 and the second leading cause of injury-related death for young people. Drug overdose deaths now exceed those attributable to firearms, homicides or HIV/AIDS. Even vehicle accidents! I will pray for you and your friends.
Peace.
