Thanks!
Thanks for all the hugs, prayers and messages. Meant a LOT! I made it through my firsts, can't believe it, but I did. Thanks to great Moms like you all and my hubby, Wes.
Then a friend named Gee, who lost her 21 year old daughter to a drug overdose a month before I lost Greg, stopped by and gave me a HUG and a beautiful bouquet, but not of flowers but of kitchen utensils, all red, in a vase and a recipe card that says, 1 Mom, 1 child, mix together forever love… I can't believe this mom, who is also hurting, remembered me telling her months ago, that my son loved to cook, was a chef in Alaska and I missed being able to call him and ask him questions about anything in the kitchen. :)
Then we met my family for dinner and of course not one of them asked me about Greg, why it looked I'd been crying all day, but you know what? I forgive them… I didn't even bother to tell them, I hope when they do realize it was Greg's angel date, that they feel terrible, mean huh?
But then this morning I met Gee and her friend Kathy and we went to church, found a wonderful new church and lot's of great new family that will and does support me. The pastor there leads our mini grief group that Gee started for people who have lost someone to Heroin, what a gift to have found these people.
So Im ready for what comes next, i will continue to count the "seconds" and then the "thirds" without my Greg, but am learning to smile again, he is with me always as are you all.
Baby steps, one breathe at a time… set my mood to good, can't' complain for 1 day after his angel date. Keep sending me signs and I will keep looking up!

I am so glad that your day was okay. How dear that this fellow grieving mom was there for you..SOTH truly get it. Do truly thoughtful that she brought such a wonderful and unique bouquet ! Love and gentle hugs...Karen
It touched my heart to read how your friend, Gee was there for you yesterday. Only another mother who has lost a child can truly understand & offer that kind of genuine support. You are blessed to have each other.
As you continue to take baby steps ahead, breathe & even learn to smile again, I admire your determination & courage. Yes.... Your Greg will be with you always.
How extremely thoughtful of your friend!!! I hate to admit it, but my memory isn\'t all that great. lol
I\'m sorry your family didn\'t acknowledge your pain, but I\'m glad you chose to ignore their lack of sympathy and lack of heart.
Hugs to you and your Angel, Greg!

Julie, I am glad your day was as gentle as it could be. Your friend is so kind and she understands all too well. My family is the same; they do not acknowledge Ed\'s angel date or his birthday and it hurts but I have plenty of support here. You have a peaceful evening and I know Greg is proud of you. Love, Linda
what a cool gift and a great friend..... love ya!!
You made it, with smiles! Remember that you won\'t miss Greg any more on his b/d or holidays than you will any other day of the year. They are just numbers. I am always confused about if I should miss my son, Michael, on the Saturday before Thanksgiving or on the 22nd of November. One year, his death date fell on Thanksgiving Day, but he died on the Saturday before in 2008. How wonderful that you, Gee and Kathy can get together!
Peace.
SO HAPPY YOU HAD SO MUCH SUPPORT AND LOVE, FROM FRIENDS AND PASTOR. SORRY YOUR FAMILY IS JUST NOT THAT GREAT. SAD. YOU WILL MAKE IT. BLESS YOUR SPECIAL ANGEL. HUGS AND LOVE MARY ANN
