So when I first came home for the summer I weighed 274 lb. My goal was that by the time I return to Toronto I reach 190 lb and today I am at 227 lb. Meaning in the past two months I have lost approximately 50 lb and have 40 lb or so to go. I'm glad I did the surgery, it changed a lot. People always try to convince others that it doesn't matter how much you weigh it's all about personality, well I don't know about other people but I do know that for me, being so totally overweight basically wiped out any personality I may have had. Maybe it was my fault that it did, but I've always been afraid to be who I am because I felt like I had to act in a way that satisfied others rather than myself because I wasn't as thin or as beautiful as the rest in terms of the way I look. It may sound stupid but that has always been the way I felt. I think now that I am losing weight (going to take a while before I'm actually not overweight anymore) I'm starting to feel like I'm just a tiny bit more in control of my life than I used to and I think that is a step forward.
