I havent written in awhile. There isnt really much new to say except that I havent gambled in over 5 months!!!
It hasnt been easy either. I was hoping that as i put it farther behind me, I wouldnt have the urges anymore, but Im finding out that they are still there. When they flood over me, I want to go So badly and in my mind I tell myself that maybe I could try it again just once. I know in my heart that I cant no matter how strong the urges are.
When I compare my life now (GF) to what it used to be, there is NO comparison to the peace I feel and the fact that I have money for things I need, and my bills are paid. We sold an old junk car for $1500 last week and I put that money down on a car that I so badly needed. My house payment next week is the last high one and then it will be caught up again.
I know if I was still gambling, bills wouldnt be paid, I would have no groceries or anything else. My stress levels would be thru the roof.
I havent been to GA in 2 months because of different reasons, but Im going to start up again this week.
My son came to visit me last week from Denver and I learned first hand that he is a full blown addict. Alcohol, and other drugs. It really breaks my heart to know theres nothing I can do to help him. All I can do is tell him how dangerous it is. I know he has to want to change and I really hope he decides to do so.
I am glad that I have stayed gf all this time, and wil write more soon.
Love,
Lisa
