Baby Steps

Today I went to the University to find out about starting a new study program in Anthropology and Psychology. Something I read yesterday made me thing about what I would do if I could choose to do anything in this world and study came to mind. I always felt I had to study practical things that would help me with my career. Now that my circumstances are different, I no longer need to worry about limiting myself to practical study choices. So I chose Anthropology. I have two weeks to decide and enrol for 2013.
Then I changed both my bank accounts to my maiden name. Another positive step that I had been delaying for one reason or another.
At the train station, when the guy sold me the wrong kind of travel card- I insisted on speaking to someone else and getting a refund. I felt so good doing that.
Afterwards I went to the beach and sat down to read when this man approached me. I spoke to him for a while and he asked me for my phone number. I said I wasn't looking for a relationship and he ended up giving me his phone number in case I changed my mind. In the past, I would have given him my number even if I didn't want to because I didn't know how to say no.
Lastly this evening I took my son to the park and made sure he got some outside play time. I feel so good about how my day has gone.
