Tonight I saw a girl with whom I had a falling out. We tried romance, and it didn't work for me. She was very hurt. I was very hurt, too, because I hate to lose connections with others, and I hate to see them in pain.
Tonight at an event I went to, I said hi to a couple of mutual friends. This other girl kept her distance, and then when she did approach the group, she turned her body away from me and refused to make eye contact.
It hurts so much. I'm a good person; I'm a caring person. I'm not a monster. I was friends with this girl for a few years, and now, she won't so much as look at me. It really, really hurts to be utterly and completely ignored by someone. I'm not invisible.
Of course, I could just go up to her and talk to her next time. But... for what? To try to force affection from someone who can't or doesn't want to give it to me?
To prove a point? That I can force someone to say some words to me? Okay... and then what?
May I never, ever give to another person the lack of humanity that she gives to me.

Sadly, not everyone follows the Golden Rule of treating others the way they would like to be treated. It is understandable that she might still be hurt by what happened, but it does seem childish that she wouldn\'t even look at you or say a simple hello. I\'m sorry that it hurts so bad. Maybe you can view her behavior as confirmation that you made the right decision calling things off with her?
Thanks.
I sympathize with her. It\'s just difficult to have pain-inducing triggers like that.
