I feel sad.Yesterday, I saw someone put on makeup on the bus. I always feel rubbed the wrong way when I see this. I don't want to witness it; I'd rather women do it in private. To me, it's also a lack of respect for the people around you. It shows me that I'm not as important to you as whomever it is you're trying to impress. That you don't care about my feelings.I thought maybe others would share my reaction on this issue. So, I posted online asking how many of my friends thought it was socially acceptable to put on makeup on the bus. I didn't frame it in an accusatory way, but rather, put it out as a question. Woman after woman responded saying they thought it was okay. Then I asked the follow-up question of whether they would be comfortable touching up their makeup in front of their date, or an interviewer for a job.One after another said no, that's not okay.I'm very saddened by this. When I think of all these people who care about the feelings of someone they're trying to impress, but don't care about the feelings of people around them who they don't know... what does that say about humanity?!
So many people don't care. They're just not sensitive. :-((I was so sad to see those responses to my questions.
Am I really so alone in this freaking world????
I don't know how else to yell out...
