I have some pretty great kids. They love to draw and draw these simple stick figures but so much expression and action goes into them that you can tell what they are doing just by looking at the drawings. Ava also made a list of words that are made up but should be words. This is what she wrote: Words that should have been real words: Cominter, Havstiom, koluine, Golterw, Davweryt, Lopment, Finjove, Yomzworth, Adertoy, Foplevrg, Zointover, lopizimer, Nimopiyu, Knimertu, Sayder, Pehter, Joinyter, Daferomp, Xenbilled, Wuyert, Quoined, Goptferd, Covmentoer, Brogther She has also written some little things to go along with this book that she just loved. They were written by James Howe and she really (REALLY) enjoyed them. Chester, Howie, and I never saw it coming. It was last week when it happened. Let me tell you about it. The day before Toby's (he's the youngest brother in the Monroe family) birthday, Howie and me went to the dump to find something for Toby's birthday. When we asked Chester to come with us he said, "You two are never going to find anything at the dump!" Howie looked a little sad. "Why pop?" (Howie calls Chester 'pop' for some reason, he also calls me "Uncle Harold") he said. Chester said "Because it's a dump!" Howie looked downhearted. "Don't worry Howie, we are still going." I said. When we were at the dump I found some socks (not the most best present ever, but it's the best I could find) and Howie found a torn shoe "What about this Uncle Harold?” Howie said. "No Howie" I said. Howie walked off to the other dumpster "come back when you find a present.” I said. Howie was gone for a while.” Uncle Harold Uncle Harold!" said Howie, running back. He sounded frantic. "What Howie?" I said as calm as I could. "Well I saw this truck and you know I like to chase cars, and I started to chase it but the driver said "get lost, dirty pup!" and I ran the other way. "Wow, Howie I don't think that driver likes dogs" I said. "Yeah" said Howie "also I brought a present for Toby." He had a pie tin. "I don't think that will be a very nice present Howie." I said as nice as I could. I don't think Howie was very happy about what I just said. Howie said “can we paste some pichers on it?” said Howie “sure” I said.Mess in the KitchenWe where in the kitchen trying to paste some pictures on the tin and we ran into lots of problems. I found some pretty pictures of some trees and flowers (I don’t think Toby will like that) and tried to paste one on. I tried my paws. SPLAT! It went all over the place. “Oh brother” I thought. “What is going on in here?” I jumped to see Chester standing behind me. “We are trying to paste some pictures on a tin Howie found. “Well please leave me out of it” said Chester. He walked in to the living room and laid down on a chair. Just then the door opened Howie started to whimper. Then Mr. Monroe and Ms. Monroe walked in. “What has happened in here?” Ms. Monroe said. “I can’t believe this mess!” said Mr. Monroe. Now I know why Chester said that he didn’t want to help us. “what do you think your doing Harold and Howie?” I think it is very cute....even though it doesn't make much sense.
