Went to the DR yesterday. She wants to up my BP meds and does not trust that my BP numbers have been good until seeing her. And she never rechecked what the nurse got. Never in my life has a DR NOT checked the numbers before med change. I miss my old DR (who moved). This 5 minute or less health care is not working so well for me. But, it is a place to make payments, has lots of inhouse testing etc.., and is the best place in town (where all the insured and patients with $$ are). I would have to drive 2 hours to find better. So, before changing meds, I joined the YMCA and will take advantage of the BP reading and fitness assessment they offer. Perhaps if data is tracked this way, I can discuss not wanting to change the dose with my DR. It will be the blood sugar meds she will need/want to change. This number has been high for way to long!!!!!!! Blood work coming this week. Oh, and the feet problem could be from diabetes or the L5/s1 back problem. Diet and exercise are beneficial (of course). I do wish I could go back to (and change) the day when a DR told me to jump rope for 2 weeks to see if this would help lower my BP. I did not. So, he sent me to a cardiologist who said I needed meds because I was 40 pounds too much. And since she knew I wasn't going to do anything about it, she was going to have to insist I take the meds. That was 18 years ago. Diabetes followed. I am a statistic. Including the fact that I was high all the time and didn't do anything very healthy for myself. So, the above history probably influences my decisions today. However, I do know I can not have a do over, and am trying NOT to repeat what has been my pattern for a long time. I really do believe this weightloss effort is going to work. Not just a "hope it does" idea. I plan to make it so. Because I am so over looking back at what I did not do and ready to let that baggage go!! Wish me luck. My baggage is carried around the mid section and rearend as well as in my mind (ha ha).PS. I lost 12 pounds this year though. You know that yogurt I eat!! Swear by it (lucky to be ok with dairy).Off to work again. We get a winter layoff. Glad for that even with the money being short. No unemployment until next year for me. It's ok. Love the job because it gives me space to care for myself (like eating small meals, taking breaks, nice friends). Can't say many jobs have allowed this before! Cheers for a Happy First Day of December~~

I do wish you luck. If you need to talk about it, send me a message. Been there, done that.
If it makes you feel any better, I\'ve had a couple of good doctors and had to stop seeing them too. Then went through a few, not so good ones. Now, I\'m luck to have found a terriffic one.
If you don\'t feel you are getting the right service with someone, remember ... it\'s YOUR body and life. Insist on being able to ask questions and get answers. There much be some other doctor you can see there?
Don\'t give up. On finding a doctor you are happy with or the weight loss. If there are some setbacks, don\'t give up.
