The end of July is near. Wow. Time seems so short the older I get. Makes me wonder how I could ever be bored as a kid. The horses are not looking well. This time of year they usually look plump and their hay bellies have a sheen from a nice short summer coat. I switched my schedule on feeding and the type of worm medication. This is not working at all. I have a field on loan to get them into in August. But they will need grain and hay during the colder months. Not a lot of time to get them in shape for winter. But we'll work on it.Hay is short because of the lack of rain. It makes me a little nervous because I have to feed so much hay. I live in woods with little access to pasture. The guys who use to sell hay are either cutting back on clients or retiring. I guess learning how to roll with change is the lesson here. Good thing we get one day at a time to do it!!Cheers
