A day of contrasts - this morning started good, I took mum shopping, she didn't object when I couldn't work out the wheelchair and I had to go shopping on my own and she said I had done well - wow!! She doesn't often say that.

Then we came back - she has had a letter from a neighbour objecting to my presence here - really upset her, and I put a complaint in to the police, who came round and were very good and supportive. Then the notice of my divorce came through, and will be granted next month. V. depressed, but because of antidepressants I can't seem to cry. Wish I could. Feeling exhausted but I think it's the emotion.

Hurrah for the success of the shopping!

The way you are coping with the neighbours is the best way to move forward. The neighbours do not know your experience, only what they assume, so it's a difficult challenge to remain calm and steadfast, well worth the effort. Glad the police were able to be supportive and good for you!

The notice for the divorce was expected. Now you can grieve for the necessary change in status. It does NOT take away the precious and wonderful memories you share. Tears will come after you process the depression part of the grieving cycle.

Keep writing it out. The emotion, the exhaustion, and lack of tears are all natural, all normal, and part of the grief cycle of the loss.
