So yesterday's appt with PCP she decided on Nurontin for the migraine prevention. Beta blockers just make me uncomfortable due to my already somewhat low blood pressure. It has the added benefit of being helpful for sleep. I started last night and I did get to sleep more quickly.
This morning DH was in so much pain that he woke me an hour before I needed to get up. Poor guy couldn't move at all without screaming. He's at the doc's office now. He wasn't up to driving the kids, so my morning went from easy to busy. Left the house at 7:30 to drop them off at school (we don't have buses at our school), then went to the bank to deposit a check, then headed to West side of town to see the sleep specialists and pick up my cpap. After that appt I realized I forgot to leave the cooler out for the produce delivery, so left at 9:45 to go back home and put it out. Then on toward work. Dropped the car off for fixes and they gave me a quick ride over to my office. I got in about 10:50 to work. Mentally my brain is telling me to quit it, but physically I'm not feeling too bad yet.
Right now I'm trying to decide if walking the short distance to the cafeteria is too much exertion after driving around for an hour and a half. Probably. The rain being what it is, I think I'll stay in my office and make chicken soup for lunch. Thank you Lord that I thought to stock my desk for days like this.
So last night, I took meds on time--might have been early--9:30ish. Skipped the bath. Laid down at 10:30 with lights out. Read until about 11:30. Then slept. I woke up a few times, but not enough to be conscious. Then work just before six (my usual alarm time). DH had me outta bed by 6:45 due to his pain.
Pain: 6
Fatigue: 4
Fog: 5

Hi, dear. I was on Nurontin for migraine prevention and it did help some for that, but I had a lot of trouble on it. I had involuntary muscle spasms and when I tried to wean off of it, I vomited for 3 weeks and was so dizzy I couldn\'t hardly walk. I am not speaking death into your situation. I do hope it will work out well for you, but I didn\'t do well on it and neither did my mom. She ended up just sitting in her chair, unable to write her checks or do anything. She just sat there and stared into space. It was bad. BUT, having said that, everyone has a different experience with meds. I hope yours is good. I\'m glad you are feeling some better. Blessings.
Thanks for the input, hon. I appreciate hearing anybody\'s experiences on meds so I know what to look for. She was looking at this one or limictel (sp). The side effects on that one sounded horrid, so we\'re starting here. Will see where it leads. Hugs!
Good luck with the new med. Hope your day finished better than it started and DH gets some relief.
