OMG , I cant believe I didnt write anything yesterday , Im such a slacker!! I had my 1st neuro appointment today with new neuro. April went with me and took notes. I will have to look at them later. well doc says she thinks I have fibro ( thats twice ) chronic fatigue syndrome and peripherial neuropathy (she says is usually from diabetes or thyroid ) so the lab took 7 tubes of blood ( and the phlebot was nice enough to make me copies, so I could keep track of the tests I had ) I have an appointment for a LP and an EMG and she is setting up an appointment for a MRI, not sure if its just spine ( I think it is ) or the whole brain spine thing. April liked her said she was thorough, I am not sure....I probably am just irked to hear fibro again. not because I want MS or ALS or something worse, I just dont believe that primary fibromyalgia exists. I believe that most, maybe not all who have been dx with fibro probably have a primary dx of something else which caused the fibro. I think some doctors use fibro and CFS as catch alls when they cant figure out what is truly wrong. fibro and CFS are so all encompassing. you could says anyone who has a dx of anything is chronically fatigued and has fibromyalgia which means fibrous tissue pain in one or more muscles . how vague is that??? anyway, Ill get off my soapbox now...lol. I still have hope for this woman, my new doc, because she does seem to be trying to get to the bottom of things. that much is good. but note to self...no blood draws from left arm, tourniquet on arm made it numb and then cold and painful. so anywho....how bout them bengals???

Follow your gut feeling. If you feel somethings not right, it probably is\'nt. Did the Bengals hit a home run??? Just kidding. I know they are a basketball team! Gotcha again! Football starts tonight? Oh joy!!
My first dx from my GP was peripheral neuropathy, he explained is was a symptom of something not a disease itself. Peripheral is uncommon in MS, or thought so tobe at that time, because MS is usually one sided. I think??? lesion location is in spine for both sides. After my MS dx as symptoms wore off my left side was more effected, left weaker and more symptomatic. Cymbalta is for diabetic per. neur. but depression is a bigger market so TV Ads focus on that.
Soundws like you have a Dr whois looking not just assuming. That is sooooo great!
sonrising is right ...you have a dr. that is looking that is always good....grin... my very first neuro...when my first mri came back adnormal with 1.5cm lesions said we would look at that later when we got my seziures under contol...rofl...lmao.. glad i fianlly got upped in neuro\'s as we have never gotten seziures under control...grin...

glad you had a good apointment , maybe you will get a dx\'s. good luck with your test.
Hope you feel better about things than before - I suspect you know too much!(Had a friend who thought she had MS -she\'s MD., turned out it was Bipolar-but with only very slight highs! Her lows so bad I used to spend afternoons with her, to keep eye on her small lad. It\'s good that april liked her - when the Chronic Fatigue arrived here, most Drs. refused to believe it existed! We haven\'t got fibro myalgia yet - but am curious that younger d. may have it (Rheum., who\'s a nut, says it\'s not Rheum.arthritis!) Sooo!, when Fibro. gets here - it will be \"it doesn\'t exist\". Have a look at my journal pics - Terry put his plum tree on my site (I said that I must take a photo-he arrived last night with a CD & put some on) - tried to teach me, but again, I\'m so slow - just had a scare re. a BAD virus - I got one of the postcards that carried it - thank heavens I dumped it! Phew, it was close! Look after yourself now, JaneD.
Good luck to you my friend whatever the outcome. You need and answer. Huggs!
