Doc appointment went as I imagined, heard half of what I said and spent maybe 10 minutes with me. doubled my lyrica. started at 50mg twice a day (bid) went to 75mg bid after 1 week and now after 3 weeks, 150mgs bid. he said the therapeutic dose is between 300 and 450mgs. so I will be at 300. he also said play with the dose a bit, maybe 75 in the morning and 150 at night if 150 in the am makes me too sleepy. all I know is , he said this should help with the involuntary movements and spasms in addition to the neuropathic pain (probably cures jock itch too) I dunno if he's feeding me crap or what. was gonna ask for something for pain cause I took my last darvocet last night for headache, but I thought he may think Im a drug seeker...so I will acetamenaphine and ibuprophen and naproxy sodium myself silly till the 6th , if I need to.on a positive note, went to barnes and noble and found both the books I wanted "Multiple Sclerosis for dummies" and "Women living with multiple sclerosis". I let you guys know my "review" lol after I am done. btw these 2 books where right there 1 book between them , they all but jumped off the shelf into my hands. On the whole today is going pretty shitty...hope somebody's around to talk to....or maybe Ill read...

The book \'Women Living with Multiple Sclerosis\" is excellent! There is a second one too. I forget what it\'s called of course. You feel like all the ladies are your friends. I reread both every so often. Let me know what you think.

LYRICA DOES WORK. AT LEAST IT DID FOR ME WHILE I WAS TAKING IT. I HAVE NO INSURANCE SO THE DOC GAVE ME A COUPLE SAMPLES. I HOPE YOU HAVE SOME LUCK WITH IT. LOTS OF LOVE, TAMMY

Hope the new dosages provide the relief that you need. The books sound excellent. I think I\'ll try to pick up a copy of the one about women and MS. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for sharing how your doing. I hope the lyrica works for you. I may try it in the future. My doc says I can start lyrica while taking up to 45 mgs of morphine (15 mgs x 3) per day. Don\'t be afraid to ask for pain meds. This condition sucks and meds help us function and live a more normal life. Check me out at my space at cjb_ma, screen name is Cheryl, but may change to Cheri. \"my space\" needs a lot of work, and friends too! Hope to see all my ds friends there!Take care. Hugs Cheri

Well, he doesn\'t sound the most informing neuro. in the world, but I think the inc. in meds. will help. If you are in pain, please tell them - with MS, who\'s going to think you are drug shopping - who\'d have the energy to do it!

I read Women Living with Multiple Sclerosis and really liked it. Another good one by the same author is Living Beyond Multiple Sclerosis. A great book to read is called Phone in the Fridge by Lorna Moorhead. It\'s very funny and so easy to relate to! She\'s also written Coffee in the Cereal, but I haven\'t read that one yet. Can you tell I like to read? LOL
