Well saw rheumy today, broke down and cried, begged him not to blow me off like neuro did. he said he thought I had fibromyalgia. he also said he didnt know whether it was primary or secondary, meaning, it may have been caused by another disease like MS ( making it secondary) or the reason for all my symptoms. He also said he would not rule out MS or ALS or others at this point (first time I heard ALS in my case, didnt like that) and it was very good that I was going to go to UC's neuroscience clinic for evaluation and treatment. he prescribed me lyrica, 50 mg twice a day for a week then to 75 mg twice a day after that. hopefully it will help , just soooo relieved he did SOMETHING for me and didnt poo poo me away.He wants to see me in 3 weeks for follow up. dear lisa linked me to tx page for lyrica, I is also used for MS and seems to be very effective!called gp and UC to see if things were coming along. UC said gp didnt fax referral yet, and gp said they would get on it. w/e take your time :p.AT LEAST NOW SOMEONE IS PAYIN ATTENTION TO ME!!!!!!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!

Hello there Rbear,
Really good news that the rheum. didn\'t give you the brush off - do hope that drug helps - I haven\'t heard of it, so maybe it fairly new! I hope you get no side-effects. By the way, did you put an photos on your site -cause last night (3am & high on painkillers for teeth extracted & gum infection) I cleverly downl\'d a lot-& being \"wafty\" I forgot to label them. (This is embarrassing, not the 1st time I\'ve done it, but I couldn\'t sleep nor concentrate on my book). I may finish up with a file called \"Friends-potential: unknown\" Oh dear, I\'ll just blame it on my stroke! Take care young one, Fond regards, JaneD.
GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU ARE MAKING PROGRESS AT LAST... NOW TRY TO RELAX UNTIL YOU GET DX...GRIN... OH YEAH LIKE YOUR GOING TO DO THAT RIGHT...
