welllll , another "specialist" and another load of crap. saw an opthamologist this am. first thing they did was take the pressure in my eyes 12 in the left and 20 in the right. (20 bad according to the nurse) then they test my eyes, eye chart, this grid thing with a dot in the middle , I have double vision in the right eye. there is a line to the left of every vertical line on the grid. then they dialate my eyes, make me watch a video on this procedure they're gonna do. put orange dye in an iv and measure how long it takes to get through the nerves and lets you see the nerves better. then I go into this room and wait to see "the man" about 2 minutes later I fell like someone has punched me in my right eye. my head and face hurt on the right side I am dizzy and nauseous. the pain is in my nose, sinus, forehead, cheekbone and ear. My head feels much better if I tilt it back. I want to lie down and put an icebag on my head. I sit there about 10 minutes waiting for "the man". He finally arrives and I tell him I dont feel so well. pain is starting to abate. he asks if I would like some water, I wanted to say, why yes , it'll give me something to puke! he puts more drops in my eyes measures the pressure again says 11 both sides, looks at my vessels through that big thingy with the chin rest and states that my eyes are "probably the healthiest eyes" he's gonna see today. here is my bill...go away...next!  Im like WTF. excuse me doc? why do I have double vision in my right eye and why......where'd he go? nurse shoos me to the payment desk and I'm out the door. sure am glad I got up at 6 am to drive to another state to have "the man" evaluate me. I am now cured! Please excuse the sarcasm, I am finding all this kinda humorous at this point, waiting for someone to tell me I have a rare disease that I may have acquired in my travels in the rain forrest when I was bitten by a rare insect and I will be fine in 163.2 days....heres your bill    he he ha ha he ha he    oh wellllllll

LMFAO.......SOUNDS LIKE MY MOUTH AND ATTITUDE. DOUBLE VISION AND PAIN ARE PART OF THE MS. IT IS CALLED OPTIC NEUROTIS {SP?}. I HAVE DOUBLE VISION MYSELF. MORE SO WHEN I AM TIRED. PLUS I HAVE BLURRED VISION CONSTANTLY. IT SUCKS BIG ONES. IF YOU HAVE MIGRAINES THEN ASK YOUR DOC ABOUT INDERAL. IT IS TO CONTROL THE MIGRAINES. I TAKE IT AND IT IS AWESOME. SORRY YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE EYE DOC WAS A SHITTY ONE. FIND YA A NEW ONE. LOTS OF LOVE, TAMMY

I\'m with you. When I went to the eye doc., he was a nice guy, but with the problems I had, he just said, \"that\'s MS.\" When I questioned him further, he told me if it got bad enough, I could have a needle stuck into my eye (steroids), \"but people rarely choose that.\" I can see why! I\'m sure there are people out there who have had more experience with optic neuritis etc. and more luck than me. In all honesty, I after many years of MS, I don\'t depend a whole lot on doctors. Most are good at what they do, but they are each very narrowly focused and they have such limited time. I get a lot less frustrated when I recognize their limitations. I do hope you feel better soon and find real help for your symptoms! Take care.

Wow! - the idea of driving to another state sounds weird! That I could not do! Couldn\'t swim either. Sorry you had such a big deal waste of time! They get like that...Not surprised that people don\'t generally like having needles into their eyeballs! The pain in my eye is getting worse: saw dr. yest. & began antibiotics today: gums terribly painful, swollen, not healing. Then I had to go back to surgery - saw my Doc\'s partner, & forgot to ask for tablets to take with the antibiotics to control thrush: other partner was there, overheard my mumbling & foolscap length note: says -quote- \"You don\'t get thrush in the mouth with antibiotics; vaginal thrush maybe, but not oral\". Since I have only one tooth in my head, can\'t wear upper dentures as gums are incredibly painful I groan! If I\'d been able to speak I\'d have told him that I\'m the exception to the rule - I get it in both places: one of which can be finxed with over the counter cream, but the oral needs a script! I woudl also have told him I was sick of his gratuitous fucking silly comments. BUT, I couldn\'t talk. I\'d an instance last year of seeing 2 large slugs on my sink; raised my eyes & they moved onto the curtains - suddenly they went, and everything was covered in old-fashioned lace, brown coloured. It took about 7 min. to go....bit of a shock, as we don\'t have black slugs..but I knew I had supre-orbital neuritis-specs went intod eye during a fall. Went outside this evening to turn off hose and wham!!!Over I went, onto kneecap and wrist. Hope I\'ve not done any damage- have broken wrist 3 times. The 60mph wind didn\'t help -& it\'s gettting worse: storm warming overnight - not usual in August! ZBut then the weather does anything these days. My eye specialist is the only really human person in the med. profession -told me to go home & not come back for 2 years -he doesn\'t do unnecessary ops., so my cataracts aren\'t ripe yet! - then he tells me trade secret-the op., when done privately, costs about 1K. One can go onto the Public Waiting list for 2 or 3 years and it costs nothing of course. This bloody infection has stimulated the nerves above and below my eye, & it\'s sure aching. Hope my Dr. gets message re.the Fungilin (it\'s not avail. in the US - people with allergies are advised to get script filled in France, or get anyone going there to do it for them. Knowing my luck, it will be off the Pharm.Benefits Scheme!- Then, back to the idiot Dr. - he tells the Nurse - \"she needs Nystatiin\" - I groan! Scowl at him, & spit - \"allergic\". I\';d love to know if he\'s even seen the inside of mouth of someone with full- blown Aids! - Thrush - pure white, & in this case, deadly!God protect us from English Doctors escaping Socialized Medicine - they are shuch know-alls. Maybe they can\'t cope with Oz directness! I feel better now - spewing forth is v.cathartic! Sorry about all that dear woman. I\'m just relieved you don\'t have MS. I think, professionally, that you were bitten by a Portuguese man o\'war when you were about 11 or 12 & you\'ve got longtime latent side effects! That\'s for free too. Take care & don\'t let the bastards get you down! Best regards JaneD.

\'you don\'t get thrush in the mouth with antibiotics - might get vaginal, but not oral. Having no teeth but one, I couldn\'t argue! I\'ve had a run in with this one before. If I\'d had teeth, I\'d have laid into him.

Sorry you had so much trouble with the man! Sounds like he didn\'t get it either and was using you as a guinea pig to satisfy his curiousity. Hate when they they take your money and satisfy their curoisity and it doesn\'t really help you! I don\'t have eye problems but I have complained about my legs b4 and all they seems to say hmmm MS that\'s it! It\'s not an excuse WTF is the answer! I am sorry for he uneducated ass and referring you to another state. Go for a second opinon closer and make sure this doc deals with MSers so he has no excuse! I think there is a specail eye dr. Others might know. I read it b4 on the board but don\'t remember since I couldn\'t relate. Good Luck on your venture and don\'t accept his answer! Huggs!
