ahhh

shower is over. the day has come and gone. Did I reflect? No.
A niece of his was invited to the shower. She has always been close to me and her kids are good friends with my son. The d-i-l she brought with her (others couldn't make it) is a bantering chum of my son. They constantly verbally taunt each other, Guess it keeps them young acting like kids still.
Anyway she asked if "other" family members were coming. I calmly pointed out that all "family" on the baby's daddy's side was there. I promised my son I would go by his wishes so no other family members from his side were invited. They were the chosen ones he wanted there. Just quick explanation to her that he wants no contact, pics, or ANYTHING else available to his dad. She understood. At least she said she did. I know she is "his" family and whether or not the details are shared I don't know or really care. I would like to believe she was sincere and wouldn't give him any news or updates on us.
But day was nice. AC went out in building so little stuffy. We all swelled up I think from no air. lol. My 83 year-old mama complained because someone else bought the exact same gift she bought. "what the hell?? She didn't check the registry??" (had to calm her down. little feisty thing she is!) She got a lot of things. Clothing she didn't really care for she is donating to a couple that are expecting and don't have much. Told you I got lucky with my family-in-laws!!!
Afterwards I went back with a loaded vehicle to her house and helped son unload mine and his truck while she put her swollen ankles up. We just got clothing ready to prewash before wearing. He sorted out the books, lotions, powders, diapers, baby wash, toys etc. Bless his heart he never complained . Her family is coming today to finish up and put things away. Quite a bit of things. Wonderful people who really love them both. My son is lucky. Her family is one nice family.
So today I was supposed to go back over there. Figured I would let her out of town family visit and I would catch her later. I may or may not be going to doc visit with her. Then we may know when they will induce labor. That way I can schedule that day off. Getting closer and I am getting excited!!!
So as you can see, the "anniversary" never crossed my mind yesterday. I feel like 90% of me has forgotten him. Just remember him on check day!! heehee When you think back and have to "try" to remember good things then your mind blocks out a lot. Granted the best "good" things were the births of my sons. Never will I regret marrying him for that reason alone. The rest is immaterial. All I went through I guess I had to go through to get to this me. Not completely where I would like to be yet. Would love to have a new love. But one that is true. Really cautious there. Believe that some day somehow somewhere it will happen.
So I am hanging in there. I am hopeful. I am happy. I have friends. I have family. I have time to get to where I want to be. <3
