2018

When I was a child I really didn't think I'd be around in the year 2000.  As it was, I was working - we weren't sure if our computers would crash.  I am not sure why I had to be at work.  All I could have done is panic with the rest of the world.  Alas, it was a non issue.

Who would have thought I'd be here 18 years later!  So much has changed.  Of course, the worst change was losing Lisa and my brother Robert.  Each holiday, each angelversary, each April 20 (Lisa's birthday) and each new year is a bit of a kick in the gut - Lisa is no longer here to hug and laugh with.  So needless to say, I am not really celebrating

We are at Andrew's in Edmonton.  We had our Christmas dinner today - turkey and all the trimmings. I am stuffed.  It just didn't seem right to roast a turkey just for Joe and me on the 25th.  We had lobster tails instead.

This past year has had its ups and downs.  We got to celebrate Arabella and Sierra's 1st birthday.  The up.  Tiina's parents have suffered health issues - see past journals.  Tiina;s mom came for dinner.  She is panic stricken.  She has a 50% chance that she will be better.  She will find out by the middle of the month.  She enjoyed dinner and the visit, as did I.  She is also worried about Jim, Tiina's dad.  He had a health setback which resulted in a dramatic deterioration of his cognitive ability. He is in the hospital until she gets her results.  Andrew is struggling with anxiety, and Tiina is having an MRI as she had hearing loss.So our life has been a bit stressful.  A lot of other stuff has happened but are not dramatic enough to journal about.

I am hoping that the bad karma goes out with 2017!

I wish all my SOTH a new year filled with health, love and peace.

Lisa:  I miss you always and love you forever.  Mummy

I saw on the news that in NYC people wrote down what went wrong in 2017 then put it in the shredder. To me that sounds like a good idea, shred the bad away. ( to bad it still lives with us, but the concept is good) I do hope that 2018 brings more love and joy to your life.

Happy New Year
love ya

Happy you can be with Andrew and his wife and may this year bring some pockets of peace, well-being, healing and most of all LOVE for us all.

We are missing our BEloved children together and thank goodness we have one another on this path of ups, downs and automatic pilot times.

Loving care to Lisa's mummy from Douglas and me.

HA!!! I remember when I was a kid, much too young to be listening to Prince, but my parents were too distracted to notice, one of my favorite songs was 1999 and THAT seemed impossible. Now it's 19 years PAST that. It's really weird the way we perceive time. New Year's is tough.

I have not enjoyed 2017...well, I guess I haven't enjoyed much for quite a while now. I hope 2018 is better...but I don't expect it. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised!

Love you and Joe! Happy New Year. I never thought about 1999 until it arrived. My friend and I played a game on the computer and waited...and then nothing happened LOL. Here we are, 18 years later.

Oh my friend. When so much is going on around your tender heart and (I'm going to guess) you are doing your best to support every one with their issues regardless of if you have the emotional strength. The born "caregiver" seems to absorb the weight of others challenges. The amazing blessings of Arabella and Sierra and being there to celebrate their 1st birthday is such a highlight! (Your frequent flyer miles must be piling up!) Yet, not having Lisa present...
Your strength and compassion is amazing. I hope that you and Joe are leaning on each other and hope this new year allows many more blessings than burdens for both of you.
Sitting here to your west and being so weather aware, I am hoping that you are able to stay warm wherever you are!
Love you my friend

Marlene, may Tiina's family get some good news. I hope Andrew ' s anxiety decreases...that's a tough one. And Tiina's hearing. I hope the drs figure it out and it's only temporary.

Your beautiful Ceyvn and her precious girls - such wonderful girls just like your Lisa. I'm with you - I find heading into another year without Ed physically here very painful. I'm sorry. I wish Lisa was physically here with you to hug and laugh with you each new years eve. Not fair!

May 2018 be gentle for you and Joe.

Loving you and dearest Lisa, Linda
