2 mile walk

Today I walked over 2 miles for the first time in months. I want to start training again for a 5k, and complete it by the end of summer. I don't have too much farther to go... it's only 3.1 miles. I walked today and it was just me and my music. I was lost in my music, so it didn't even feel like I walked 2 miles. I probably could have done more, but I didn't want to push myself with little training. I've been walking 1.2-1.7 miles at a time this week, so 2 miles wasn't too bad. When I go for my walk tomorrow I'm going to try for 2.5 miles. I hope the weather is cool like it has been. It's been rainy a bit at night and sometimes in the afternoon. The clouds keep the worst of the heat away. It's been humid, but it's not that bad. I was attacked by mosquitoes the whole time, and I'm covered in bites. That's what I get for not putting on the spray. I have mosquito spray, but I haven't been using it because it stinks. But then I have to deal with the bites. I think tomorrow I will put the spray on.
Other than that, it's been a pretty decent day. I got sleep last night, and woke up around 1pm. It's still more than I needed, but I wanted extra sleep. I even took a nap around 4 for about a half hour. Just a short thing. I'm getting tired again, and I might go to sleep early tonight. Courtney is supposed to call me sometime when she's on her way home from a part, and Anita is at band practice. I'm just here at home... It seems like every time I step out the door I'm attacked by mosquitoes. At least I don't have anything to do tomorrow except go for my walk. My mood today has been decent.. I haven't felt too depressed. I did spend a lot of time in bed, but I started watching Dexter again and so I was watching that in bed. I've had to recharge my battery once today, and it's going to need another recharging tonight.
Food today was good... I had a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast, ramen for lunch, and chicken with mushroom sauce and rice for dinner. I'm in my calorie range and everything. I weighed myself today, I'm at a new low of 210! I just hope I can keep dropping the pounds. I think I'm over my 213/214 pound plateau that I was on for a while. I think that was because I wasn't doing any exercise for a while. Between my shin splints, hip pain and tooth pain, I was out for over a month. But I'm back on the right track now. I need to go to the store soon... Geo is out of soda again and we are running out of bread, turkey and milk. Aldi, the store we go to, has awesome honey smoked turkey breast slices that they sell by the pound. I sometimes wrap a couple slices around a piece of cheese with some mustard and that makes my midnight snack. It's easy and fast. If not, I take some sour cream and hot sauce and put it on a warm tortilla. Yum!

Super on the weight loss!
Are you planning on walking the 5k or running it? I could walk one if the weather was decent. There is a member group - The Walking Group - http://www.dailystrength.org/groups/thewalkinggroup - and we have a spread sheet if that would help with your training.
