2 Is Going To Be The End Of Me!!!
I love my daughter I love my daughter I love my daughter I love my daughter I love my daughter.....seriously, I love my daughter. But right about now I wish I could trade her in...for a case of beer, or a robot house keeper, or even a tootsie roll!
It seems like she has always had a strong will and her own personality...but as of late, actually, since the very week she turned 2, she has become evil...I swear it! Every day is filled with screaming, tantrums, hitting, blatant defiance, pickyness, bullying, bossiness, anger. I mean, she throws classic tantrums. The ones from the movies. Where the kids throws themselves on the floor and kicks their legs and waves their arms and screams at full volume.
And a tantrum trigger? Look at her. Ask her a question. Pick up a toy she hasn't touched in half hour. Put her plate too close or too far away from her when you set it down at meal time. Cover her with the wrong blanket at bed time. Basically...anything and everything. And she throws them everywhere. I'm getting really tired of having to leave places because of her behaviour. It has been almost 3 weeks since our last grocery trip because we can't do it with her without a shit fit. I'm going tonight, just Joey and I, and Marlow is staying with a sitter. Because we are basically out of food. I can't go to the mall, I can't even go to the park!
Her hitting, oi....she will stare at you straight in the eye, raise her hand, and despite you telling her that if she hits you she is going to have a time out, she still smacks you. And not just once. She takes to windmilling her arms so she can hit you repeatedly.
She's bossy. She demands and tells and if there isn't immediate compliance, wether it be from me, her cousin or the dog, she will get violent. If she tells the dog to take a nap and he won't, she kicks him!
She suddenly won't eat anything. And if that's not brain aching enough Joey is absolutley no help, and my MIL is constantly telling me I'm starving her. She's going to develop wrong. I have to give her whatever she wants, even if it's ice cream three meals a day, so that she has something in her. And Joey is always sneaking her snacks so that she is eating and it pisses me off!!! Of couse she isn't going to eat her noodles and chicken, she can have daddy sneak her some fruit snacks later, and when we go see grandma and papa they will give her cake, ice cream, chips, whatever she wants.
She has also started to lie. And I know she doesn't fully understand the concept, but I need to break it and fast. She will lie about another kid doing something bad. She will lie about herself doing something bad. She will lie about dirtying her diaper even!
And people keep telling me 3 is worse!?!?!?! And they want me to have another kid? GAH! I love my daughter I love my daughter I love my daughter I love my daughter I love my daughter......

Not that you wanted this response - but the windmill hitting had me laughing - not that it is funny. My daughter is only 17 months and she raises her arms up and looks right at you and you say \'no hitting\' and wham goes the arm anyway. Daycare has tried teaching her kissing instead and that worked for awhile - gotta keep up with it. I\'m so sorry the 2\'s are turning out to be so terrible... I\'m afraid of them myself. A good book to maybe help you through this stage is The Happiest Toddler on the Block - they have a DVD too - your library might have it. Hang in there! It does get better...
The lies aren\'t really lies at this age. I know it\'s frustrating. You just need to correct her. As for the rest of it.. when my oldest son was this age, our pediatrician told me to spank him. Not beat, but just get his attention. She told me that if anyone said anything to me, have them call her. My child was just bad! Well, I tried it and it worked. I know others are going to say it\'s wrong, but have to do what works for you.
