Tomorrow
Tomorrow I have my second session with the therapist the VA has insisted I see - not the one I've been seeing for over a year now. Last time, she hadn't even bothered to open my file to read up on anything I have been through - she came in totally clueless, and acted like I was JUST NOW deciding to declare myself Transgender. *sigh* I almost got up and walked out right then, because she had said over the phone two weeks beforehand that she was reading my file so she'd know what was up!
She is very insistent I have my sessions with her via skype - over the internet - even though I told her I do NOT do skype, or other video chats, and I will NOT have electricity or private online access in a couple of weeks!
I am feeling very unhappy over the way the VA has just forced me to change therapists, especially when they assigned me to someone who seems to have no idea what she's doing! I have been informed that they are insisting on the video chat therapy sessions to make things easier - I'm guessing easier on THEM - but I find myself unable to trust a therapist who insists on no face-to-face contact.
My appointment is for 9AM tomorrow. I will be going in to see her in person - and I will flat-out REFUSE to do the internet sessions! Either they provide me a qualified gender specialist who WILL see me face-to-face, or I raise holy Hell until they do.
I just can't TRUST a therapist who refuses to see me face-to-face. And if I can't trust the therapist, then how the Hell is it going to do any good?
