Today

Today, I finished moving out of my old workshop out back of my mother's house. I surrendered it to the brother who has moved back in with Mom, so he can have a sheltered workspace. He's happier, Mom's glad I didn't argue over it, and I'm happier with my workshop now getting set up on the same property as where I'm moving into to live. Now, whenever I want to throw pottery on the wheel, I can walk into my workshop and do it - no driving across town or to another city to let my creativity run free.
Tomorrow, I see the gender specialist for the first time. FINALLY.
This is a busy week, shuttling between cities, moving out of one and into the other; going to doctors, getting services turned on. Maybe next month I can relax and enjoy just being in my new place. I've still got my household stuff to move, and all the equipment I had to put in storage needs to be moved as well. Plus, my two furry companions - cats - need to be resettled in the new house. It's a great excuse to be rid of all the clutter in my life as I prepare to move forward.
I'm getting rid of all the clothing, shoes and things that I had for my female body, as well as a lot of other stuff I simply do not need anymore. Most I'm donating or giving away; but what's just junk is going OUT.  Thank you, I no longer have to wear feminine clothes or make-up, or feel like I'm forced to wear a costume I don't like. No more pocketbooks - because women are expected to lug those around with everything in creation stuffed inside - and no more hurting ankles from high heels. Away with the jewelry, gone the earrings that hurt and get tangled in hair. No more having to shave my face - I can grow a beard if I want and not feel like everyone is staring at me. No more stinking nail polish. Goodbye, multiple dresses and pairs of shoes for work and events. Gone the feeling of WRONGNESS whenever I have to dress up for something. No more being forced to choose between comfortable clothing and stylish clothing.  Gone, last vestiges of the woman I never really was.
Maybe I'm being too quick to discard the trappings of my past life,.... But it sure feels good.
I haven't worn that stuff in three years - and I don't intend to ever wear any of it again. So why not get rid of it now, as I move to a new city and a new beginning? Nobody there knows me as anyone other than who I say I am now, ... I don't have to be hampered with the stuff anymore. I last wore any of it when I was forced to be feminine at an event where people knew my family and I was trying to prevent problems for my relatives. I don't have to do that any more.
I'm free to be Joe.
Soon, I hope I can make that official.
