Merry Christmas!
Well, I've been in and out of the hospital since my last journal update. Developed gastritis from the solumedrol, and have been referred for Rituximab again, but no word on that. I'm actually doing pretty good since my last 3 plasmapharesis treatments. Maybe they will last a bit longer...
What an emotional day, today. My baby, my Nicole Wood, is sick with strep throat putting a damper on our Christmas plans for the day. I got the phone call while driving 1-1/2 hours to my aunt and uncles where the kids were to meet me. I arrived at my aunt and Uncle's feeling a bit down as my Uncle Wil wasn't there as expected, as he wasn't well. The three of us visited a bit and the aunt Patt came out with a great big gift bag for me! Seems she had told my Uncle Jim in California of my MG and frequent hospitalizations this year. He wanted to do something for me so sent her money to Christmas shop for me. There were tons of spoiling goodies for me from spices, cocoas, scents, scarf, Finger hot pads. Thank you uncle Jim, I felt like I was hugged by my mommy and grandma.
I had been giving in to feeling sorry for myself...stinking thoughts like "I sacrificed Thanksgiving so that I would be well for Christmas and now this, as I cried as I drove to my aunt's. Then that wonderful surprise from an uncle, that has a family of his own to love.
Tomorrow, we are going to risk it and drive to the kids. Nicole will have been on antibiotics for nearly 24 hours and will wear a mask while I'm there. It will be delightful and easy on me too. God is good.
