Hanging In There

Dear Fred:   The last two days have been somewhat better than the last time I wrote to you.  Part of the problem, I believe, is that it is difficult for me to keep busy.  There is a lot I really need to do.  The leg bothers me quite a bit whenever I walk so I tend not to do too much.  Monday I will see an orthopedic specialist  & perhaps will then know what my options are.
Yesterday I went to a "laughing yoga" class with one of my friends.  It was a little strange but it really was a positive thing to do.  Today I went to lunch with one of my sisters.  We tried a little window shopping after lunch.  We had to cut it short as I wasn't up to walking as much as usual.
I checked today on line to see if there are any local support or counseling groups in my area.  The answer is "no".  Once I get so I can walk well again I have some volunteer activities I want to get involved in.  Until then I am just sort of hanging on.  I'm just not sure how to handle this solitary time.  I keep telling myself it is only temporary.  I sure hope that is true.
I'm not sure how those who have suffered the loss of their wife or husband and have limiting health problems manage.  All I can say is that I have a lot of respect for them and admire their bravery.
There really isn't much more to say tonight.  Good night, Fred.
