NEWS!
9-16-09: My son, Chris, came over tonight with his girlfriend, Sarah. They delivered the news that I am going to be a Grandma! I NEVER thought this would happen! I am thrilled and also a bit apprehensive. I am so afraid to love another child. If I were to ever lose another young person I love, I don't know if I could survive. Really. Chris and Sarah, for the time being, are not getting married. They do not want to get married because they are having a baby. I do suspect, in time, they will marry. Chris said he felt like a teenager telling his Dad and I. LOL He is almost thirty! Sarah is twenty-eight. This is really their "stuff". They both have decent jobs, are mature, and will make great parents, I am sure. I am trying, really hard, to have the blind faith I used to have. This is the circle of life. I know my grandbaby will be the "best" there ever was! I think, maybe, God knows I need this. The baby is due in May. Whew! School is a crazy thing! We are almost a month into it and there is still no routine. It is hard on me so I know it is hard on the kids! And, there has been drama, drama, drama! It is like some of the staff is the same age as all the our middle school students! I have decided my best bet is to keep my opinions and thoughts to myself. That is the wisest and most empowering thing I can do. If you are not saying anything, no one can accuse you of anything. And, there is nothing to misunderstand or understand. Just wonder.... It is not, on one hand, hard for me to be silent. On the other, it totally goes against my nature. I have always been the sort of person to state my mind, like it or not, and work things out. I really do not have the energy for nonsense. I just want to work with the kids and go home. I do love the kids! I am ready for the weekend! I am going camping and floating. Yeah! We are leaving Friday evening and coming back on Sunday afternoon. I really need to get away. It will make the next week hectic, though. I will not have any time to do my regular weekend stuff. But, I plan on keeping it in perspective. I have already done the hardest thing I have ever had to do. So, being a bit out of routine is NOTHING!!!! Changes, changes.... Although, in many ways, I feel stuck in June 17th, 2007, life keeps on moving and I find myself having to move with it. It truly is an oximoran. (sp?)
