It is WET here!  A lot of flooding going on.  I am on high ground so that is a good thing.  They have opened shelters for those who aren't.  One of our local boys was killed today in a vehicle accident.  He was driving a dump truck, hydro-planed, & ran head on into a semi. At least that is what I have heard so far. He was 21 and Scott & Adam used to play ball & go to church with him.  His Dad and Craig were friends when they were kids.  My heart is breaking for the parents.  I guess I will go the visitation.  I have avoided funerals and funeral homes since Scott died.  I don't think I can handle the funeral but for the visitation I can sign the book even if I can't make it all the way in.  At least his family will know we were there.  We are not really friends but since we have known them for years it seems like we should go.  I have no clue if they came when Scott died and it doesn't matter.  I just want to offer whatever I can.  It sure seems like a lot of young people are dying.  Maybe they always were and I just wasn't paying as much attention as I do now.  In any case, it STINKS!  I went to therapy today and we just talked.  Chris wanted to go to Compassionate Friends so I went with him.  It was ok since I didn't do the EMDR.  I got to visit with Chris for a couple of hrs. before the mtg. so that was nice.  Hoping for a dryer day tomorrow!

It does seem like a lot of young people are dying - whether here - or in Iraq, its so painful to think about their futures being cut short. I\'m glad you are safe from the flooding - just be careful if you have to go out and drive. I hate driving in torrential rain where you can\'t see an inch in front of you - scary.
It\'s nice that you want to go and pay your respects - your kindness is overwhelming - and you have a beautiful soul - it\'s a rare find these days. God bless you hon, take care and have a good night.

Hope the weather lets up for you soon. We had rain and snow here today. Sorry to hear about another loss. Your right it just stinks. The parents will appreciate you going to the visitation. Just do what you can that is all anyone can ask of us. Be gentle with yourself and do push yourself. Love and Hugs.

I am proud of you for choosing to go to the visitation. When a young firefighter died 2 weeks ago...I could not go. I am planning on writing the parents a letter and offering my support...but thoughts of the visitation and the funeral was more than I thought I could handle. It DID stir up those initial raw emotions...I stayed in a funk for days. It hurts to know what these parents face...you are awesome for supporting them. Love and hugs...Karen

I wonder if more young people are dieing or are we just more aware now. You are a brave woman to go to the visitation, I still have a dread of funerals or anything to do with them. I will visit and offer help to any family in our area who looses a child but I just can\'t do the funeral thing. I believe I\'d make a spectacle of myself and that\'s not what its about, so I stay away. Hopefully you don\'t have to grow webbed feet before it dries up. Love and hugs Cathy
