Friday night: Today wasn't too bad at work. It was a bit tense with the other para when I went in, but I broke the ice and asked how his evening was and how he was today. He seemed to be ok after that. I was sort of crabby today, for no particular reason, so it was a big leap for me to be the one to step-up. But, I work with the guy every day and don't have the energy for any B.S. The kids were really easy today, so that was nice. I am so glad it is the weekend! A few ladies from Compassionate Friends, and myself, are going out to dinner and to see my son, Chris, do his D.J. thing, Sat. night. The ladies suggested it and I was like....Okaaaay. They seem in awe of it, or something. I am always proud to show my son off. He is very, very, good. But on the other hand, I have been listening to him practice since he was 14. He is 28 now. And, I had to deal with his used-to-be band, practicing in my garage, for many months. (I rarely heard a complete song. They would just start over, & over, & over...) I just see (& hear) it differently. But, it does make me proud to see others so interested. And, it is a stretch for us to go out. One of the ladies lost her 8 yr. old son 3 yrs. ago when he accidentally hung himself. Another lost her son in a car accident. And, yet another, who we are trying to talk into going, lost her son just 3 mos. before Scott to an accidental overdose, by methadone, just like Scott. I am not sure who else is coming. Chris' girlfriend works at the restaurant/sports bar and is going to reserve a table for us so we can be right up front. No other big plans for the weekend. Just some housework & laundry. I did get invited for a night of pampering by another friend but since I already had plans I had to decline. It was for a fund-raiser....haircuts, foot massages, manicures, etc. I hardly do anything and then everything comes at once. Why is that?!?!? Once again I am counting my blessings to have people around me that want to be around me. Sometimes, (often) I don't even want to be around myself. I am going to bed in just moments. It is not even 11 p.m. That is HUGE for me. I surely hope sleep comes! Peace to all who are reading this. You are all in my thoughts, and wishes, for healing.

Glad to hear that work was okay and that you went out with some friends. We need to do things for ourselves that make us feel better. Enjoy your weekend. Love and Hugs.
Ginger,
I am so glad you are getting out and you have a great support system. I can not even imagine having a band practise in my garage :). Hugs, Inga
I hope you have a really good time out. Enjoy yourself - relax and just let the night be - what ever it turns out to be. I will be thinking about you.
I would have done the same thing at work - the higher road - stand strong, and don\'t let anyone get you down. You don\'t need the BS, you have bigger fish to fry right now - healing over your sons death - takes priority.
God bless you hon - take care and let us know how your night went.
love & hugs,
