This weekend has been harsh! Craig doesn't seem to get it that I don't care about planning a vacation, our future, & whatever else we are "supposed" to do. I try to explain to him that somedays all I can do is figure out how to get out bed and put one foot in front of the other. I told him he is not a mom. He did not know Scott before anyone else ever laid eyes on him. He is not the one dealing with the ins. co., social security, and reading over and over the medical records. It is me. It continues to be like picking at an open wound. He did not find Scott although he was there seconds after I did. Craig has always been about the money. On one hand that is a good trait. On the other he can be obsessive. If I had known, I wouldn't have married him. On all other counts he is a good man. I have never been so money oriented. I am fine if I can pay my bills, eat, and occasionally go out. Maybe it is because I grew up never having to worry about anything like that or doing without. His family was a farm family and did struggle some. Although, he always lived in a decent home and had food on the table and clothes on his back.I mean, money is nice. I like it as well as anyone else. I don't have much at the moment and it is a little tough. But, I still eat, pay my bills, and have a roof over my head. I am probably even more relaxed about money issues now. When we buried Scott it was with his camo coat he loved and a ziplock bag of a few of his favorite treasures. What is the point of going nuts over money if when you leave, if you are lucky, you go with a ziplock bag of treasures? And, although we don't have much cash, we have many assets so Chris & Adam will be just fine when Craig and I die. The fact is I really can't worry right now how who and how I am affects him. I am just trying to figure out how to make it through the day (or the minute). No wonder so many people get divorced after the death of a child. I did rearrange Scott's room tonight. He had made a corner shelf in high school. I put that in a corner in his room with many of his things on it. Not really a shrine, but his little corner of the room. It has his diploma, his work hat, a lighter, crystal rocks he found, (he ALWAYS collected rocks), things like that. It was so hard to put things from on his dresser into a drawer. I cried quite a bit off/on tonight. I can't get rid of anything yet but at least now when I open the door I do not see the room the way it was when I found him. The way it was before was when you opened the door his bed was right there. Everytime I opened the door, I saw him there. I am having a hard enough time with that image anyway. Now when you open the door, you see a bookshelf and his little corner. I don't know that it really helps 'cause I still shut the door when I was finished for the night. No matter what I do it will always be Scott's room and I will always remember finding him dead there. But at least that won't be the "right in my face" view. On a better note, Chris made it to Vegas just fine. He will be back next Thurs. We are supposed to be having a rain/snow mix that day so I hope it doesn't get too bad. I work 5 days next week...the 1st time since before Christmas. I was such a slug on my break it has been hard to get back into the routine. At least I have one more day off this weekend.

I commend you for being able to do something with Scott\'s room. Maybe this will help you find some peace though. I know what you say about your hubby. Mine didn\'t have to look after the paper work either. Men just grieve so differently from us. It\'s almost like they have to distance themselves, and they are always about the money. It\'s like it\'s business or something. EGO!!! Glad to hear that Chris made it safe. Sure hope that things work out for comin back. Take Care, Love and Hugs.
I feel like you do most of the time. Actually all the time, he wants to live life and I could care less. It\'s the same thing, he didn\'t carry him and I do throw it at him at times. Men just grieve differently.
hugs and I hope things work out for the best.
I also commend you for being able to work on Scott\'s room. I could not do it, my daughter bless her heart put all of her brother\'s things away and she now sleeps in his room. She said she wanted to always feel him. At first I did not know how to feel about it but, it seems to have helped her alot. Alot of people have asked for a T-shirt or something that belongs to him but I can not give his things away. I don\'t think I will ever be able to. I hope your husband will understand how you are feeling and give you more time. I do know how hard it is to keep going. Love Melissa
Ginger, maybe give Craig a little more time to deal with his own feelings. Remember, men are men!! You are so right about us moms being closer to our kids, after all, we had them 9 mos. before anyone else. All my love, Dawn
I am so proud of you...trying to balance all the responsibilities that you have. And then working in Scotts room...you are doing the best you can...and I admire that...love,peace and hugs...Karen
I FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT GREG SOMETIMES I AM SO PROUD OF YOU I COULD NOT EVEN GO IN TIEASE OR JUSTINS ROOM OR EVEN CROSS OVER TO THAT SIDE OF THE HOUSE BUT LOOKING BACK I WISH I HAD AND NOT HAVE LET GREGORY DO IT ALL LOVE JODY

See you Tuesday
Ginger, I thought you would know by now that men DO NOT GET IT. LOL. Take care and I am here if you need me. Love your friend, Always, MJ
Do not rush anything. Give yourself lots of emotional room. I have been having a difficult time too! I am very sensitive to the comments of others. I try to keep a very low profile. I am very depressed. Giving you a hug.

You have taken a very big step in working on your sons room.As far as your husband,It seems that men just want to put it all out of thier minds and maybe it will go away.Hang in there,I am here if you want to talk.
Is Craig his biological father? Step-parents sometimes have hard time understanding how to deal with grief. Even is he was your son\'s father mean tend to deal with grief differently. My husband seems to go from be the most supporting person to being the insensitive goof out there.
Most people do not understand the daily battle we have to deal with, and the amount of energy it takes just get through the day. We are all here for you and love you.

It is all hard and just take it one day at a time. I know how hard it is I have all my son\'s clothes in my closet near mine.
You are stronger than you think you are. Balancing work, family and life is not easy for anyone, let alone a grieving mother. Be gentle with yourself. Take care.
After I lost my daughter Luchan, I don\'t care money that much at all. What\'s the point? So many things that money cannot buy for you, eg happiness, joys. I would give away my house, my car and everything I have If I can get my Luchan back.Take care. Love Robyn
I know those feelings, they mirror mine. Money is not an answer and as you say we will be lucky if we go out with a bag of treasures. My treasures are in my heart so I\'m sure they\'ll go with. Praying for you. Love and Hugs Cathy
