(Sun. Night)  A tough weekend!  We are having an ice storm here.  I have a photo of Scott during our last ice storm being a "preppy lumberjack" in his photos. It is so him!  A little country, a little city. I remember him saying he was glad it happened because now he knew what to do.  I also remember him roasting a hot dog in our wood stove when we were without power.  So many other memories of that time... Scott and I stood on the porch and listened to the trees snap.  They sounded like gunshots.  Everyone else was asleep. We were in awe. We put our tree up today.  I could live without it but Scott would be so angry if we didn't.  He loved tradition.  I found several ornaments he made in school.  The toughest was a print of his hand made in 1997.  I would've never dreamed, 10 years later, I would be having Christmas without him.  And another ornament telling his Dad & I to have a Merry Christmas.  Fat Chance, this year. As I wrapped presents, I pulled out some gift bags with Scott's name on them. (We use them over & over.)  That was hard.  Don't think we will use those bags this year as I can't imagine covering his name with a new tag.  At 7 p.m. we lit candles in Scott's memory and the memory of all the other children gone too soon.  Compassionate Friends is where the idea, (at least to me) came from.  What an awesome thought to have candles lit, worldwide, at whatever was 7 p.m. to them.  A lot of thought and glow.  Don't know if I will work tomorrow due to the weather.  On one hand I hope school is closed.  On the other, it just means another day at the end of the year.  I don't like driving on ice, though.  Snow...not so bad.  Ice is a whole different game.  Well, just wanted to jot this day down as I had numerous meltdowns.  To everyone who reads this I just want you to know how much you mean to me and how much I hope you are having a more peaceful time than me.

Even though it was difficult look at what you accomplished, putting up the tree. It may be baby steps but steps none the less. I hung up stockings and pulled out A.J.\'s. It stinks but I don\'t know how to change things. It will be hard for a long time but we all have each other and you mean alot to all of us as well. Thinking of you. Love Robin
