September 25: I am so blessed in many ways. Sunday a friend of mine, her son was a good friend of Scott's, called and we went for brunch. Sunday evening one of my best friends, in another state, called and pretty much invited herself to come visit on Oct. 5 and spend the night. She is a wise woman, inviting herself. She knows I need her but would not have invited her right now. She also knows I would never turn her down. Sneaky..... And tonight a friend, for 21 years, called just to see how I was doing. He and I don't really hang out or work together anymore but have continued to exchange Christmas cards for the past 20 years. It meant so much for him to call just to chat. As I said in an earlier entry last week was really hard for me and I had a total meltdown on Sat. It is like my friends just know when I really need them. Today was hard, though. We had an accidental death policy on Scott. I took one out on all my sons when they started driving. It is a small policy that will barely cover expenses. Anyway, the company is giving me the run-around. I had to go to the hospital Scott was born in and had his back surgeries and other stuff to get the medical records. To pull out the death certificate, medical examiner's report, etc. just made me cry. Right there in their office. I haven't really looked at that stuff since I received it. It just sits in a bag in my home office along with sympathy cards, unwritten thank you notes, and other stuff that was funeral related. Guess I ought to do something about it but I just don't have the energy or desire yet. I am so tired. Other than that, today wasn't as bad as some. Tomorrow is my oldest son's 28th birthday. His girlfriend is having a surprise party for him. Social gatherings have been impossible for me but I am sort of looking forward to this because it is a celebration of his life. Something good for a change. To all of you reading.....God Bless.

I think the \"angels\" our true friends do appear when most needed. I continue to get ambulance bills even after the insurance has been filed. I finally called to let them know how difficult it is to receive them so please stop. I\'m sorry you\'re getting the run around with insurance co.,business is business I guess. I hope the surprise party will lift your spirits if even for a while. We do need to celebrate life because we\'ve all learned how precious and frail it is. Hugs to you Robin
