We had the baby for 5 hours today. I always have a great time when he is here. He wanted to hold my hand and try walking! He let go of the furniture to step towards me. He reached for me when he was done eating, when he was tired, and when he wanted to just sit in my lap. I'd say he's definitley bonding to me. his mom was getting a little hurt by that, and I'm not sure what to do about it. I'm really not sure why either, because we, the mom and I, have always done visitation together, so I haven't had any more time with him than her, except about 3 times when she was 10 minutes late. Should I try to back off? He will be in my custody starting next month, however his mom will be given a chance to live here and become a good mom. But if you've read any of my past posts, you would see that she has certainly not acted like she is capable of being a good mother, or putting someone else first. Should I try to back off, or should I already know that he will need to bond to me since I don't know if it's possible for his mother to grow up, she's 18 next month. I just don't want to mess him up. He's been in foster care for 10 months and he's already probably going to feel kidnapped when we bring him home to stay next month. We  have been seeing him once or twice a week.
