Dear DS diary,
Last night was difficult sleeping for me even though it was nice and comfortable outside. Reason was conflicting emotions, of which I had several.
The moment was one of the Melrose High School alumni wanting to friend me on Facebook, because I had just friended someone who I knew was safe. In part, I recognize I brought this on myself, but for a few hours, my heart was doing corkscrews.
On the one hand, I want as little association with the MHS Class of '97 alumni as possible, because it is likely I will never forgive them for putting me on a scared-cat path that took the years that would have been my prime away. On the other hand, this was one of the few people who never got into trouble, was also affected by that same high school class, and tried to go out of her way, along with a friend of hers, to try to protect me...and she feels bad that she couldn't.
I eventually was able to think this through enough to be able to friend her first try. But I admitted I had lots of confessing to do to her. We may exchange phone numbers and possibly arrange to see each other soon; since she has shown me an updated a photo of herself and it clicks that she did nothing to hurt, this may be easier than it sounds compared to most.

Good for you, I\'m so glad you took the chance and reached out to your former classmate. Sounds like you two have a lot of catching up to do.
It\'s always good when you can connect with someone from your past that is in fact \"safe\". I hope things will come together enough that you will be able to exchange phone numbers and also actually see each other.
Since you said she had went out of her way to help try to protect you, I venture to say your getting together will be a pleasant experience:):)
Hope your Sunday has been a peaceful and relaxing one!!!
((((((((((gentle hugs)))))))))))
