I have a feeling that this chemistry prof I have is going to get a lot of nasty evaluations.
Today was exam day...and nobody, it seems, was safe. Brilliant effort ScaredandScarred on short notice, but the notice was just too short to get everything locked down pat. What went down was just amazing.
I didn't do very well (in fact I was basically horrible because one of the chapters I knew was cut from the exam), and I was not alone. As I sat steaming outside the exam room (I actually told the professor to get lost because he doesn't get that nobody's understanding that, then sent him a nasty e-mail, again, less than an hour later), I heard all kinds of stories from others as they came out.
Some were like me: Because they didn't understand dimensional analysis (first chapter!), they didn't understand the myriad of conversions from chemical equations, either. None of them have apparently been able to find compatible help either.
Then there were a couple of people who said to hell with the professor and out-and-out cheated, by using their phones after first making sure they were on silent. They got away with it but admitted afterwards that they knew the material no better than the rest of us; they had simply reached a frustration level heavy enough that they no longer cared if they were caught.
All this was little consolation to me, it means I still have no on-campus study buddy and now basically have no hope of getting one...so the people issues, as they stand, will be essentially intact at the end of the semester, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that's not good.
Skype chats are starting to look more important than ever now...
