Today was my map quiz for my western civilization course. A couple of locations did get by me, but on the whole I did a lot better on this one from first impression than I did on a map quiz last semester (and I still can't sight-ID the US states without having difficulty with the middle of the country...blech).
After completely crapping out the first week, it seems finally being back on a routine is helping matters. But I'm irked over the hand that I've dealt myself, basically. There's no question that if I can keep reading like I am and stay up on the assignments -- I finished the one for Thursday this afternoon, a short discussion paper -- I'll probably be all right. But it feels like survival mode, and I just hate being in survival mode with a passion.
I also don't seem very forgiving to myself about the way I broke into pieces last week, not the least of which seems to be that I think I alienated a couple of my friends, even after I conceded that I let them down, not the other way around, with the lack of faith in myself I have.
