:O
Sorry, I couldn't think of a good title for this, but I had a realization last night that made kinda go . (surprised)
So, I realize that not very long ago I've been bitching about how I really don't feel I'm very bright. Some of the basis of that was called to attention when during the spring I could only name 17 of the 50 US states by sight on a blank map for a quiz in a state and local politics class.
Here's the realization: the feeling is not new, and it does seem to go back a few years farther than some of my other...well, issues.
A lot of things that I ought to know have slipped by me. In middle school I really didn't know how to retain information after a class was over. That was on me, but after the smoke bombing in high school I no longer cared about whether I was learning anything because I was more worried about my safety.
The issue with that is conceptually speaking, a lot of things just went over my head. This probably explains why I felt a need to go after an AS instead of a certificate for my paralegal studies, because intellectually there is a gap somewhere in my brain...just not sure how big it is.
And something's coming back now...
...yep, it's about when I got addicted to puzzles. Somehow, thinking got in there that if I did enough of them I might be able to convince myself I was smart. But that's not necessarily true; the kind I preferred may have built logic skills but little else (and that has pretty much deteriorated now).
I'm not really saying I want to be a know-it-all, that's asking too much, but it just feels like maybe I need something more than my courses to get an understanding of things to the extent that I need them...and somehow I feel lost on that. Sometimes this feeling of wanting to make up for lost time kicks in and that gets in my way because then I bite off more than I can chew. Yet 33 isn't exactly young, at least it isn't to me...
...I'm so confused now. Part of me is saying I just need to learn something every day (pick a means), and part says that maybe I have to start looking up online courses or something to that end.

Well...do you mean you want to know as much as you can about the paralegal world...or you want to know more about the world in general?
If you wanna know more about paralegal, I would say just study and take as many classes as you can. Even keep up with classes once you\'ve graduated, that way you\'ll always know you have the most current information.
If it\'s the other...OMGosh there is so much to learn about. I really like National Geographic magazine because they cover all types of stuff but they write it in a way so you don\'t have to be a genius to understand it, which is awesome. The pictures don\'t hurt either LOL. I love learning. There\'s always something new.
What interests you? Start there and you\'ll have fun :)
