One thing is totally certain now that I'm off and running on my summer courses: I'm not going to be bored.
I had hoped to take a criminal justice course this first half of summer semester, but there weren't enough people enrolled for it to come off. So instead I'm in a sociology course to fill a general requirement...
...and it's hard. No in-class exams, so I have no way to check my real understanding without the book's companion site (which I have bookmarked). Two papers, one max 4 pages, the other max 8, will effectively be my grade. And the text has this really small font that makes truly reading the text a non-option, I have to scan it instead.
(What is it with college textbooks anyway? Are they made too long on purpose?)
But I found a way to finish my first chapter of notes anyway tonight, despite a wild day at work where it seemed that the (cuckoo) was hitting the fan the whole time. If I can manage to do some work on it every day until this particular course ends on July 12th, I might be okay. But it could mean a few nights away from DS when frankly I still feel a need to be here.
So if there is a stint where it seems like I'm quiet for a few nights, it's not out of ignorance. It's a case of "can't get there from here" instead. But hopefully it won't come to that.
