Leaning how to keep my thoughts in line is, by admission, a difficult trick.  Yesterday, I couldn't miss; I even managed to get a study session in after my work-class combination, the first time all year I've done that.  Help from many people had a lot to do with that.
Today was harder.  Now, to be fair, much of it was fallout really, because while it should be easier to "rally" from here compared to what has been so far, the college couseload does still wait for no one.  So it was not a terrible surprise, albeit very annoying, when I felt the full brunt of Thursday's crash-and-burn today when I had to take a pop quiz in my first class of the day.
As with the map quiz earlier, the result was comparable to the scent of a skunk; being a full chapter back left me clueless on two of the six questions for another crash out.  But again, to be fair, I did do this to myself.  These feelings of being defeated early has led to me being behind everywhere except at my job, and it will likely be President's Day before everything is finally set right.
As a whole this feeling is still aggravating, and so today came up well short (for the record, trust issues are still playing a role in all of this; in the class in question we were assigned study groups within the class but I couldn't bring myself to buzz any of them after my Thrusday crash out...and an "I don't know you, so I can't trust you" attitude was the big reason why.)
It's not over, of course, but I hate these bumps in the road.
