More than anything, this is an extension of the journal entry from yesterday.
I got some useful feedback on the last entry, and one suggestion was to use limits.  To an extent that would be useful, but...there seems to be a little more to it than that.
Specifically, the hiding connotation scares me more than anything else.  It hasn't seemed to matter much if I have one interest or several...if I've wanted to "dodge" something in some kind of fashion, each new idea would just come off to be a new way to hide.
But there's something else...and I have a lot of trouble explaining it.
Maybe I should try it like this...there's this part of me that just wants to be good at everything I do.  The reality is that most people have some facet of what they do for a living that they're not a master at (for me, it's speed.  I tend to need lots of lead time.)  But somehow...Idk.  I just find it hard to accept.  I really don't know why.  Maybe it goes back to the years I felt I threw away...I can't say for sure.
What made the puzzle thing go so spectacularly wrong so long ago -- once I was hooked -- was the desire to be so good at so many different types of puzzles (truth is, I'm not, especially now) that it got totally out of hand.  Somehow...
...
...I'll just have to put it out there.  Is being just a hobbyist with spare time okay?  And what about having multiple interests...is there any danger there if it doesn't interfere with my life too much?
(I know, those don't sound very smart.  But I'm just so confused...)
