I need to send a double shout-out tonight.  I won't name names, but you know who you are.
So, yesterday, I was a train wreck.  I was in panic mode, essentially, which is really easy for me to do because my first reaction when I feel like I'm under the gun is to panic.  But I caught a rare break of not needing to hit much over the weekend, so I stopped by here.
I felt panicky because I was afraid my work schedule was about to change for the bad (which I don't have proof of yet because Monday is the first day that we'll be without the colleague of mine who's leaving and my supervisor wasn't certain what he'd do yet, although it does look like he will start a search for a replacement or have one of the other pharmacists help) and I know next week I probably can't reach the tutoring center because the Columbus Day weekend is going to screw up the schedule for next week.
I found the first friend by live chat, who settled me down and then had me send an e-mail to my advisor explaining how I felt -- very important because over the spring I didn't even know who my advisor was (at least I do know now).
The second stabilized me some more by message and then encouraged me to use $20 to unlock all the example videos at a website called MathTV.com where I can see example problems worked for a large variety of math topics (some of the videos there are free, but to see ones for the areas that are giving me trouble, that's where the $20 comes in).  Last night I took a look at a couple of videos on systems of equations and saw promise in how the video instructors were working them...one actually works slow enough that I can pause the videos and work the problems along with her.
It thus was a very important weekend from a stabilization standpoint.  I love this site.
