I had a feeling this would happen, but I felt powerless to stop it and as my luck would have it everything has gone downhill in a hurry.
I definitely wasn't myself yesterday afternoon...very worried. I knew at least one of my friends was going to be online last night, so after I took my shower (I had to...I didn't smell too good after working outside) I tried firing up my lappy with my AC adapter.
It had been fine since I got the thing...but the key word is had. On this night, it simply crapped out (please pardon the language), and the battery remaining wasn't going to be enough for what needed to come out, leaving me high and dry. I tried sending my friend a message via the Safari feature on my iPod Touch but it was obvious I was already heartbroken by Murphy's Law kicking in at an inopportune time.
The damage to any course progress while I wait for a new AC adapter to arrive via Overstock will be minimal because I have plenty of paper and fresh notebooks besides, plus I have permission (granted this morning now that my parents know what happened to the adapter) to borrow the desktop if I need it. But that doesn't take away the emotional hurt from the fact that on a night when I needed to talk live, I couldn't.
With thus inadequate outlets and my confidence the way it is right now, it's hardly any surprise that I couldn't sleep last night. Now I really have to hope my first class today is just the introduction stuff that usually passes for a course's opening day, because I need a rerack. Badly.
